If you can create an email which is 100% guaranteed to fail then do that and keep it first as your test email.
In Outlook go to "File" to open Account Information.
At the bottom select "Options".
Select "Add-Ins"
Under the section "Active Application Add-Ins" you should see: McAfee AddIn. The location (on our pcs) was "C:\Program Files\Mcafee\MSK\mskola64.dll (but if you have a 32bit os or a different set up this path may be a bit different) and the type is "COM
Add-In".
At the bottom of this dialogue box there should be section "Manage" where you select COM Add-Ins" from the drop down and hit "Go".
In the next box you can disable "McAfee Addin" by unticking it.
On the Add-Ins screen the McAfee add in should now be in the "Inactive Application Add-Ins" section.
OK everything and go back out. Close down Outlook. Re-start and check. If you have a test email then try that and see if it is now OK. If for some reason the setting reverts, which may be due to a McAfee update re-setting the Add-in to active, you will
need to re-do it, but we havent had to at all.
The above is the way to do it for Outlook Office 365, but it will be pretty well the same for older Outlook versions.
This has worked 100% for us and does not disable any of the McAfee security side - it only disables the footer banner which seems to cause the issue. There is a thread in the Mcafee support forum which brings this to their attention, but I haven't had a
chance to chase it up (I think I put the link to it in my earlier post).
As always, YMMV, Back up before Screw up, Be kind to animals, etc, etc..
