Outlook 2016 for mac, email reply greys out screen

I am having an issue on Outlook for Mac ver. 15.26.1 running OS Sierra

When I have Outlook in "full screen" mode and an email opened in a window and hit "reply" the entire screen goes semi-grey and when I click anywhere on screen it gets rid of the grey but it minimizes the email window.  I can click on the minimized window to bring it back up and then it's fine, but it's seriously annoying and slows down my efficiency and productivity.  This only happens when I have the email opened in a window and hit "reply".  It does not happen when I just select the email from the inbox and hit reply from the tool bar.  Anyone else having this issue?

    I have the same problem for months and no update solves the problem. They believe that it is enough to reduce the full screen. We pay full money, but don't get a full solution. Incredible.

    Norbert/Stockholme,

    It's now very easy for me to reply, my problem is solved. But what really suprises me is that it's just not solved for everyone. You would imagine, one solution fits all. I can really understand you frustration here.

    I do run:

    • MacOS Sierra v10.12.6 (regular macbook, early 2015)
    • Microsoft Outlook for MAC: Version 15.38 (170902)

    With this you should have a fully functioning version of Offices and outlook. I do not face any of this issue anymore. Maybe try a full reïnstall of the office suite and maybe of you Mac.

    There is nothing more I think I can do for you. A lot of good luck and let me how this will evolve please.

    I have the same issue on my Mac.  For now I found everything works when not completely expanded. 

    I have been back and forth with support over a month now.  They keep giving me instructions that either don't work or I can't follow.  I responded today and said I give up.  I will have to just wait for the update.

    15.38 is no longer in service.

    Make sure your Mac has a working internet connection before checking for updates. Install Mac OS X updates followed by Office updates.

    Install Mac OS X updates first:

    To get Mac OS updates, go to the App store on your dock, and then click the Updates button to reveal available updates.

    Then Install Office Updates

    To get the update:

    1. Open any Office application
    2. Go to the Help menu and choose Check for Updates
    3. Let AutoUpdate check for and install updates
    4. Restart your Mac
