Using Outlook for Android in business environments for email and scheduling
Remove your credentials from Authenticator App and try again. This was the solution for me. Solved ;-)
Thank you!

Hello all,
Would appreciate your thoughts on the following situation:
I just installed the Outlook App on my Galaxy S5 phone (Android 6).
When I start it, I get prompted for an email address so I enter my work email (Office 365) and after a few seconds it looks like something comes up and then get dumped back to the "Get Started" screen with the most helpful error message in human history:
"An Error Occurred"
Wow! Where to begin?
I cannot make it past this screen to access any settings or options of any kind.
Guess what - the OWA app for Android works fine, but it doesn't have WEAR capability unlike the Outlook app.
Any suggestions/assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Pete

I am having a similar issue. I have a samsung Galaxy Note 8 with Outlook for android installed. I have connected/added other accounts to outlook (google, dropbox, icloud) with no problems. However, when i try to add my onedrive account (using the add a storage account option) i can get all the way through the sign in but in the end i just end up back at the sign in screen and my onedrive account isnt added. I have tried the things mentioned on here already and checking the admin apps permissions and uninstalling Microsoft authenticator but still have no success. Thanks for the help!
If you have the authenticator app just remove it
Yes, this worked for me. I'm using a Note 8. I went Settings > Cloud and Accounts > Accounts, then open the hamburger menu (top right), select Disable Auto Sync. Say OK to the message that pops up. Now go back to Outlook and complete the account set-up (I did this for two accounts, both worked immediately). Then go back to Settings > Cloud and Accounts > Accounts, re-open the menu and re-enable Auto Sync. Thanks!
Update March 2018: go to Cloud and accounts. Click on hamburger icon. Turn off autosync, Add a new Outlook account from here. Voila. You can turn Autosync back on now.
Microsoft, please fix this.
