Outlook email "groups" have suddenly disappeared; contacts still there but no groups.

All of my outlook email "groups" have disappeared. My "contacts" are all still there, but the "groups" I created are missing.

I see a number of others are having similar issues but no one from outlook has provided an answer, they keep asking the same questions: 1. Tell us how you check your email, 2. Have you made in recent changes.

After the recipients respond, they never hear back from the moderators again.

I use my email "groups" nearly ever day. However, when I woke up this morning, I found all my "groups" had disappeared from my account.

I use Windows 8.1; I check mail thru outlook.com via Chrome.  It is the same with Internet explorer.   It is also the same using the outlook app on my Android tablet.

    Open your PEOPLE.

At the top where it says +NEW, click on the drop down arrow.

It gives you option to create new contact, or new GROUP.

I am not creating any until I find out if I can get the 40 or 50 groups I already lost.

I have the exact same problem. Microsoft, I need my group lists restored ASAP. This is wreaking a lot of havoc on my email threads since, being human, I almost always forget 1 or 2 people in the recipients list, and I find out only a week or two later that they never received the threads.

As promised by Microsoft fro the state of Washington, this WAS CORRECTED on my END.

This morning my PC needed updated, so I shut it down and restarted.

    My "GROUPS" are BACK

    Thank you BILL GATES.

Maybe the Tweets I sent out to him worked (-:

Mine too!  Lets hope it stays that way.  But what a lesson in how not to communicate service changes - presumably this is behind the issue.  Wouldnt you have thought that Microsoft might have alerted their Hotmail customer base that this would happen, give a timescale and keep them updated on progress?
