Sync Outlook 365 (email, contacts, calendar and notes) with android phone

i have a rogers.com email address from here in Canada (if that makes a difference). 

Rogers uses Yahoo for their backend email services which doesn't support EAS (Exchange ActiveSync) nor is it a hosted Exchange account. What is supported is configuring the email account as either POP or Imap - neither if which provides syncing of contact/calendar info which would be retained locally on a given device but will sync your email if both the desktop and S3 configure the account as IMAP.

You may want to take a look at the Outlook sync software provided by the folks at CompanionLink which will enable you to sync your phone to your desktop for contacts and calendar.

Hi Support Community.  looking to sync my office 365 home outlook email, contacts, and calendar to my Samsung Galaxy S3.  i have a rogers.com email address from here in Canada (if that makes a difference).  I have tried the MS Exchange server thing and couldn't figure that out.  I could set up just my email, but it's the whole outlook i am looking for.  any help is greatly appreciated.  thanks in advance for the time and effort.

I feel conned by windows 8.1 and office 365, these are utter rubbish and certainly not fit for purpose.

I purchased a new laptop as my old one running on XP bought in 2006 had died (using office 2003/2007) this used to work very well syncing emails and calendar entries.

I also have another laptop with windows 7 and office 2010 all works well.

Now I come to the worst piece of software I have ever encountered.

I cannot sync my outlook calendar with my android phone, I have tried using a gmail account to forward via, also same with an outlook.com account. All claim that you can open and forward all your email accounts through one account.

I have tried just about every tip I can find on the web, searched for additional apps.

Microsoft must fix this problem as the product is not fit for purpose and I for one  intend going to trading standards as it clearly does not do what it says on the packet and judging by this forum I have plenty of evidence to back my action up

Since you have provided no details as to what type of email account is involved or what process you are following on your other systems.............

If you are referring to not being able to sync your Driod phone with Outlook '2013 - the desktop client - then you will need to contact the software vendor that provides the sync software. Outlook (any version) has never provided any capability to sync directly with any device - that is the purview of 3rd party sync software providers.

There are two types of "sync'ing" - the first between the email client (on whatever device, computer, mobile etc) and the email account and second between the email client and any other device or application. Using Outlook '2013 has no impact on the former (device <--> email account) and the second (Outlook<-->device) is not done by Outlook as stated above.

Outlook '2013 syncs mail/contacts/calendar etc with an Outlook.com when configured as an Exchange ActiveSync account (EAS) or when the account is an Exchange account. Only mail is sync'd with an Imap account so not sure what you are referring to about it "not doing what it says on the box".

No other post I have ever put on a forum has been responded to so I have been searching for almost a year and have since purchased a Galaxy S4 because I was told Apple and Microsoft 365 don't play well together.......................

Connect with Outlook.com without any add-ins

Outlook 2013 includes built-in support for Exchange ActiveSync, which means you don’t need a special connector add-in to connect to Outlook.com (formerly Hotmail). Also, if you use Tasks to plan every detail of your life, now you can sync Outlook.com Tasks with Outlook to put all those plans together.

So, my thinking was that if I can sync my Outlook 365 with Outlook.com I would be able to access everything I need on my phone and computer so they are the same.

If this is not the case perhaps you can direct me to where I can get help instead of providing me with attitude.

#1 - Re: not ever getting a reply - reviewing your history, you posted a message on 8/23/2013 and got a response from <Gary Phantom> on 8/27/2013 to which you never posted a follow-up. Aside from that thread, you posted one other time (1/3/2014) related to syncing with your "cloud" account - to which a response was provided by <John Paul M> on 1/11/2014 so a little confused by your comment "No other post I have ever put on a forum has been responded to......................." which only serves to inaccurately represent the facts to others who may read this post and not take the time to confirm whether or not the statement is in fact correct.

#2 - You now have a Droid phone - see item#2 in my response. Outlook has nothing to do with the sync process with different devices. You question is about sync'ing with an Outlook.com email account - not Outlook - 2 entirely different things. Both of those issues were addressed in my previous response.

#3 - The quotation you included regarding Outlook.com / Outlook and EAS is completely accurate and valid which it most certainly does. Equally, your comment "So, my thinking was that if I can sync my Outlook 365 with Outlook.com I would be able to access everything I need on my phone and computer so they are the same" is also accurate - providing you have the appropriate tools on your devices (Outlook does not run on Droid). At a minimum, if you wish to pursue the question as to how to configure your Outlook.com account on your Droid device in these forums - you should post the question in the appropriate forum for Outlook.com (as was already included in my previous response).

The sync process with your Droid device depends on the sync software in use. I've already provided one option. Whether you choose to pursue that is entirely up to you otherwise youe alternative is to determine what sync software works with your device so the starting point would be with the provider of your device (I don't own a Samsung Galaxy but would be surprised if no Sync software options were not included when you purchased the device)
