Hello,

Outlook.com lets you edit, add, delete and rename groups. This functionality is called "Manage Groups" and can be accessed from the "Manage" drop down menu in the header when on the People page.

Outlook.com also lets you add and remove people from a group.

  1. Visit the People page
  2. Select the contacts that you want to add to a group by clicking on the checkbox next to their name in the contact list
  3. The header shows an item called "Groups"
  4. Select the group you want to add this person to and click apply.

From this menu, you can also create a new group and manage groups.

thanks for the help ........ but the fact is, this is still confusing ............ when you select the people you want to add to a group it can seem like you have two places to go to complete the process ...........  as well as "Groups" on the menu bar there is also "Manage", if you go to manage you get the option to "Manage groups", it is not at all a stretch to think that under "Manage Groups" you could do things like add and delete people for that group, i think it would make more sense to have one button called managing groups and in that area you add and delete groups, you add people and delet people from groups, you could change the group name etc. why have two places to go and have two names which suggest that you could do any of the actions that relate to working with groups, that or make sure the name on the menu is much more clear ............... i vote for "one stop shopping", let me go to a groups button and therein deal with any issue having to do with groups, the current scenario takes what is an elegant set up for contacts and adds this ugly confusing wart that requires constant guessing

    best regards,

ok. I go to all left column, find the contact i want to delete, check the box, persons details come up on the right, i click on groups, the menu list shows that the group the person is in has been checked, what do i do next, there is no "apply", or continue or next, no place to go to next to complete the action, if i go back up to delete and click it tells me that deleting will remove the contact from my contacts list, which i don't want to do, i just want to take the person off the group list ..............

    i'm stuck

and once again, why can't they just put all group actions on one button, go to a groups section choose add/delete members, change group name, etc. ......... click the add/delete option for members and either type in name to add or select from a pop up list of your contacts, just the way you do when you are adding people to sharing a folder, why have a whole different system for adding contacts then what you have for sharing ........... seems like two different teams worked on this and never talked to each other ........... its time they had that meeting

    best
