What is "Yomi name"?

I'm trying to add a contact.  If I click on the plus sign below the "First name", "Last name", and "Company" field, I see a pop-up whose first two entries, "Yomi name" and "Yomi company" don't mean anything to me.  Here's a picture:

What the heck does that mean?

Hi Brian,

Yomi name and Yomi company name are fields for entering the phonetic equivalent for Japanese names. In Japan, there is commonly a Furigana equivalent for the Kanji name that is used for sorting and searching.

    Thanks, I found it there.  I would not have guessed it to be an "Other" item.

     I will mark this as "Solved my problem" ... however, Yomi Name is under "Name" but Nickname is under "Other"  Others have posted & shown that Nickname is under "Name" in their Outlook.com

    ?? Is this a new change ??

    Why not include "Nickname" under the "Name" properties section instead of other?

    I'm trying to "Add" a new contact and, like the original poster, noticed that there was a textbox for entering a "Yomi" name ... I thought it was the same as the "Nickname" until I did a Google search and ultimately ended up here

    In my case, I have two contacts with the same name and I just want to add a "Nickname" to distinguish them apart.

    I am using Outlook.com (https://outlook.live.com/owa/?path=/people) and do not get the textbox for "Nickname" in my dropdown list.

    I would have simply used the "Yomi name" text box until I read the Wiki definition which is a bit depressing:

    ... Yomi or Yomi-no-kuni is the Japanese word for the land of the dead (World of Darkness) ... Yomi is comparable to Hades or ****
