Unable to delete contacts.

I called Microsoft's 800 number for technical support and they say that the only support is Microsoft Community.

The Microsoft representative says that this is the only forum or place to get help.  Are there any Microsoft employees who can help me with my Hotmail/Outlook.com issue?

I am not able to delete contacts from my Hotmail/Outlook.com account.   (And, yes, I have cleared my cache, I've got the latest browser versions, the  issue is the same on multiple computers with various browsers.)

Can ANYONE help me???????

(Original title: hotmail/outlook.com won't let me delete contacts, what do I do?)

I took the advice of the person who told me to change my settings in Facebook.  You can keep those contacts from showing up.  I will find two emails that may help you and post them here when I have a little more time.  They have pretty much answered all my questions.  I don't necessarily like having to disconnect FB from Outlook contacts, but it does work for the most part.

     It was from Kyne_D

yeah i agree windows live accounts are the worst. n microsoft support is even more stupid.

you want to delete contacts from windows outlook.com/ people? it can be done.

go to manage accounts from edit profile.

remove the **** link of facebook and windows live accounts, this will stop imports from facebook contacts going into your windows live email or whatever. and windows live the bastards, those contacts going into your facebook account. seriously microsoft you have lost the plot on everything.

this will take a few minutes to refresh, dont know if the effect changes who you see in your phone, if you have a windows live phone, quite possibly the contacts will remain there, who knows. its **** windows!

now go back to people, select whoever you want to purge from your contacts for good. and delete.

Ok, I believe I'm having the same problem. Here's what is going on:

    • My Hotmail used to be connected to my facebook
    • I removed the facebook connection, however the contacts were not removed from the PEOPLE hub of WINDOWS LIVE HOTMAIL. Nothing to do with Microsoft Office Outlook.
    • When I go to the PEOPLE HUB of WINDOWS LIVE HOTMAIL and click the little gear, there's an option to filter my contacts. I have Outlook, Skype, and Messenger.
    • Regardless of what I select, my facebook contacts are STILL there, even though the account is NOT connected.
    • There is NO OPTION to delete them. and NO CONENCTION
    • I want them gone.

For what it's worth, the account is currently synced with a Windows 8 Desktop, a Windows 7 Laptop, a Lumia 920, and a Surface RT.

Also, this is so **** frustrating.

I even created a new account, and then I realized that if I switched accounts, I'd lose my purchase history, my 25GB Skydrive, and I'd even have to reset my Lumia.

Come on for **** sake get this **** working before I lose the plot and move from Redmond to Cupertino.
