I called Microsoft's 800 number for technical support and they say that the only support is Microsoft Community.

The Microsoft representative says that this is the only forum or place to get help.  Are there any Microsoft employees who can help me with my Hotmail/Outlook.com issue?

I am not able to delete contacts from my Hotmail/Outlook.com account.   (And, yes, I have cleared my cache, I've got the latest browser versions, the  issue is the same on multiple computers with various browsers.)

Can ANYONE help me???????

(Original title: hotmail/outlook.com won't let me delete contacts, what do I do?)

Yes I too  been having issues trying to clear out/delete old contacts several times as each time I removed them off my phone Microsoft Outlook re-added them.  MSN is next to Facebook in their lack of support or ability to repair their email issues or any other.Too bad and they wonder why people leave their service in droves. If they offers a repair app or patch at least you could fix it yourself but they cannot seem to care period.Bill Gates  is too busy causing havoc with his useless OS Windows 10.Which when upgraded from Windows 7 locked out all my USB controls rendering my hard drive totally useless. No support on a patch or fix because after all,how can you initiate it without a mouse, keyboard or USB drive? I vote Microsoft as the most useless software or operating systems ever lately. Some of the best OS like Windows XP and Windows 7 were too reliable so bye bye.If not for Apples over priced hardware or software I would be running Macintosh.Thank you Microsoft for your excellent customer service an ability to repair your software glitches so quickly, "NOT".This concludes my rant for the day.Looks like it is up to the users to find solutions to repair crappy Microsoft issues.

    RESOLVED:

Go into Skype, not via. a Browser, on Desktop > Contacts > right-click contact(s) you wish to delete > click "Remove from Contacts".

This has to be done through this medium as "Outlook People" does not enable you to delete contact through there. Your contacts are linked in from Skype. An account of which you already have when you sign up with either an @outlook.com, @live.com or @hotmail.com domains with Microsoft.

Not helpful. I don't even have Skype. The contacts it won't delete were never on Skype. They simply will not delete out of Contacts. Contacts does not work right.

It's been awhile since I visited this. I went back and tried deleting the contacts it hadn't allowed me to delete before. Suddenly, I could. The only difference I know about is that I got rid of the outlook app on my android. Too many issues. It was locking up and automatically syncing things I didn't want synced. Now, I use bluemail for my phone and my People/Contacts is behaving itself again. I am thinking this must have to do with syncing Outlook on more than one device.

Why does microsoft have to be so unintuitive?! There are only three events in the life of an entity: create, modify and delete!!!!!
