Unable to delete contacts.

I called Microsoft's 800 number for technical support and they say that the only support is Microsoft Community.

The Microsoft representative says that this is the only forum or place to get help.  Are there any Microsoft employees who can help me with my Hotmail/Outlook.com issue?

I am not able to delete contacts from my Hotmail/Outlook.com account.   (And, yes, I have cleared my cache, I've got the latest browser versions, the  issue is the same on multiple computers with various browsers.)

Can ANYONE help me???????

(Original title: hotmail/outlook.com won't let me delete contacts, what do I do?)

I understand this, however due to some unscrupulous person planting malware in an image on Facebook back in March of this year (2016) I was forced to close my Facebook account, which might I add was not the easiest thing to do. Where does that leave those who have contacts, living or deceased, being displayed in their Microsoft contacts who would prefer them removed from said list?  Surely Microsoft with their ability to 'point' to a contact on another platform should have the ability to stop 'pointing' to a specified contact when requested to do so by the Microsoft account holder.

(They make it all too easy to 'import' contacts, but all the more difficult to delete them.  They make it all too easy to create accounts, but deleting them takes a considerable amount of research and time.)

Thank you! I had over 3,000 entries in my People/Contacts list. Happily, this did not affect my contacts list in Windows phone. Why do they have to make it this hard to get a solution to this problem? Like you said it's **** Windows. Again, thank you--you made my day. :-)

I have contacts entered originally through hotmail, now in Outlook.com that I cannot delete. I have never imported any for any social media accounts. I am working on a desktop PC. (I can't even access my contacts on my android-dunno why). Some of these contacts I can delete. Others, the delete button disappears if I highlight them or if  I check the box. Please help. This is driving me insane.
