I called Microsoft's 800 number for technical support and they say that the only support is Microsoft Community.

The Microsoft representative says that this is the only forum or place to get help.  Are there any Microsoft employees who can help me with my Hotmail/Outlook.com issue?

I am not able to delete contacts from my Hotmail/Outlook.com account.   (And, yes, I have cleared my cache, I've got the latest browser versions, the  issue is the same on multiple computers with various browsers.)

Can ANYONE help me???????

(Original title: hotmail/outlook.com won't let me delete contacts, what do I do?)

The issue is NOT with Outlook.

The problem is CONTACTS/PEOPLE.  It isn't operating correctly.  Mail and calendar are FINE.

CONTACTS/PEOPLE is a hosed up mess.  It is an abomination.  And not one seems to know why.  This is a ridiculous waste of time.

Microsoft should be terribly embarrassed. But, from the reaction on "Community" (or should I say "the lack of reaction"), they just don't care.

There are SO MANY people with problems, I don't know how they can ignore the issues with "CONTACTS/PEOPLE".

Oh, one last thing, I DID attempt to call Microsoft support..... I actually SPOKE with them...... they told me that "COMMUNITY" is the ONLY support.  Sigh.

Currently, Microsoft account only provides forum support to help our customers. We believe that to best serve the needs of all our members, our support system should be universally available through forums.

Unfortunately there is no "live", email, or "phone" support for Hotmail, Live.com, or Outlook.com

The only support is here on this forum.

    Re deleting contacts...

    Please read below.

Outlook’s “People” feature lets you integrate contacts from Facebook, Google and Twitter, as well as from other sites and sources.

Note that I said “integrate,” not import.

The difference is that when you “connect” to the social services, to use Microsoft’s term, it doesn’t really import them.

In other words, it doesn’t copy the address book.

    It merely points to it.

If you want to delete a contact “imported” from Facebook, for example, you can’t do it from Outlook.com. You have to do it from Facebook.

Only contacts created in the Outlook.com “People” area can be deleted from Outlook.com.

If you cannot delete the contact in People, try this:

Go to your Outlook Email (Outlook Live) and find an email with that particular contact name/address in it.  Open the email and click on the name/email address (could be the sender or other recipients) - you should see a pane at the right hand side.  Click on the 3 dots symbol - you will see option to Edit contact or Delete.  (Alternatively just hover the mouse over the sender's coloured circle or other recipient address - you wiil see a small window with the 3 dots.)

Not helpful. I don't even have Skype. The contacts it won't delete were never on Skype. They simply will not delete out of Contacts. Contacts does not work right.
