Now I can't edit contact and add new contact to outlook.com account on my Android phone.

I have 2 problems:

  1. The option to edit contacts on my Android phone is no longer listed as an option. I can only view the contacts.
  2. When I want to add new contact on my Android phone, I can only add to my Gmail account.

Any work around for these problem? Apart from switching to WP/Apple.

It's now November 2015 and Outlook's new android app is out for a year.

But, you still cannot sync my LG G2 KitKat calendar and contacts apps with Outlook.com.

Anyone who wants to use Hotmail/live/outlook.com to keep their personal data is forced to use the Outlook app, which does not have a dialer.

Goodbye Microsoft. I hardly knew you (only 5 years I tried to work with you because I hate Google's revenue model based on selling my internet use data).

No one has marked your post as helpful!!! Wow. This is the first time I've seen any kind of possible answer.

    Unfortunately:

    1. I cannot follow your instructions as posted. The email has been stripped out - I am wondering if it is just an email (ie user AT domain DOT something) or if it has additional network address text. Can you clarify with the above format so it doesn't get removed?
    2. does this mean I need to have an Exchange account, which costs money?

Thanks much! I hope you can still reply, 10 months later.

I am syncing my outlook.com data on my Android phone using the default contacts app on the phone. I think I must have set it up as SMTP or exchange type account. Since I do have the office 360 package it is I guess technically an exchange type account - so if you'all want to sync your outlook.com data I suggest you buy the office 360 product and rock'on.  It's only like a100/year. and you can install the office products on 5 (yes 5) computers...

    This has worked for me.
