Now I can't edit contact and add new contact to outlook.com account on my Android phone.

I found a solution by combining Outlook.com app and the the Exchange account type that comes with Jelly Bean. In fact, I would probably have used only the Exchange ActiveSync account but it doesn't support multiple Windows Live Calendars.

The way I did it is to configure Outlook.com to sync only calendars, not contacts then I created the ActiveSync account and requested it to sync only Contacts and Tasks (not Calendar and Email). This way, I can modify / add contacts and (any) calendar events and I take my emails in Outlook.com app.

This was exactly what I needed to know.  It works perfectly for me.  I was getting really frustrated trying to come up with a simple solution that consolidated all of my contacts, calendar, tasks, etc., and I decided to use Office 365.  So far, I'm really liking it, but not being able to edit my contacts was very frustrating.  Thanks so much for taking the time to share this!

Yes, I want to know this answer too.  When is it (outlook on my Android phone) going to be able to sync contacts/people between my Android phone and outlook.com (and then to my desktop OUtlook 365)?  When you do this MS I will switch all my info to the OUtlook.com office 365 platform.

It should have been quite a while ago.  Or, Do I have to get a Windows phone to sync contacts/calendar/email???

• How are you trying to add/edit your contacts? Provide us the detailed steps.
• Are you using Outlook/Hotmail app?
• Do you receive any error message? If you do, please specify.
• Have you tried reconfiguring your account?
• What is your impacted email account?

Running Android 4.4.2

Go to Phone Settings>Accounts>OUtlook.com>click on account>Check Box "Sync Contacts" exit.

Open Contacts App, I see all contacts that are on Google account as well as Outlook.com account

Open a contact, that is in both accounts (or just outlook.com account) and select edit,

Hello, apparently my outlook contacts on my Android phone can't be edited...  Sad.  I want to sync between outlook.com and my Android phone and now can only sync Calendar and email...  Now I have opened the option to view outlook.com contacts on my Android phone but can't edit them or delete them etc...  They are viewable but I would like to use Outlook.com to sync my data between my home PC running Office 365 with OUtlook and Outlook.com and my phone.  Unfortunately, for me I have an Android phone which using the Outlook app I can only view contacts Not Edit them.

When will this feature be available?  much needed to push the platform and the Idea of syncing my data between the three platforms PC Cloud and Phone...  This is a Great Opportunity for MS to capitalize on.  I can make backups of my data on my pc in case something happens to the data I can restore easily.

All you have to do is sync with ActiveSync and they are fully editable.  It will automatically update Outlook data by doing this because you are in fact editing Outlook data with ActiveSync.  It works.

ok, that is great.  I've moved on from Activesync and I don't think Office 365 supports that anymore...

I'm using office 365 with Outlook 365. They use (I think) the onedrive sync or sharepoint to sync the data between Outlook on PC and outlook.com then to  phone...
