Calendar subscription does not refresh

In outlook.com I subscribed to my TripIt calendar feed. In outlook.com I went to Import > Subscribe, and entered the ical feed URL that I got from TripIt. The URL looks like this (redacted for privacy reasons): https://www.tripit.com/feed/ical/private/<<long id here>>/tripit.ics. The initial import worked perfectly and all the events from TripIt show as expected in my outlook.com calendar.

However, outlook.com has not tried to refresh the feed for two days now, and, consequently, changes are not shown in outlook.com. Now, other software in which I imported the exact same feed, e.g. the OS X calendar app and my Google calendar, do see the updates just fine. Only outlook.com does not refresh the feed, at least not in over 48 hours now.

    Everyone,

This issue has been around for well over a year as evidenced by the thread below.

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/calendar/subscribed-calendars-not-updating-refreshing-in-a/d2bd9365-a26e-45a8-b25d-4e91cfef69d7?page=1&tm=1376011608612

And the moderators of that thread, just like the moderators of this one, continue to spout the same old Microsoft BS. This is a known problem and will never be fixed. Microsoft either cannot or does not intend to fix it. If you have not done so already I encourage you move on to a more reliable provider such as Google. If a problem as significant as this cannot be resolved in over a year then that company should not have your business.

Add me to the list of users with this bug.

I have just moved to Windows 8 from OSX and this is a MAJOR issue.  I accepted the fact that Microsoft and Google refuse to play nice with eachother and hoped that Outlook.com would be an acceptable solution.

I moved all of my calendars over to Outlook.com with the exception of my Tripit calendar (feed only).  I travel 4 days a week so getting updated travel information is vital for my business and lifestyle.  The fact that Outlook updates this so rarely (when Google would update them hourly) its a big, big deal breaker for me.

Seriously Microsoft - ics feeds are old technology that every other calendar program as figured out.  Please get a fix to this ASAP.

    Hello,

I too am having the same issues.  I am unable to receive updates from a subscribed ics calendar.  I am very disappointed that this has been ongoing for such a long time.  Please provide a status update.

I am also unable to force update by unsubscribing and then resubscribing to the calendar.  The Last refreshed date remains unchanged.
