Calendar subscription does not refresh

In outlook.com I subscribed to my TripIt calendar feed. In outlook.com I went to Import > Subscribe, and entered the ical feed URL that I got from TripIt. The URL looks like this (redacted for privacy reasons): https://www.tripit.com/feed/ical/private/<<long id here>>/tripit.ics. The initial import worked perfectly and all the events from TripIt show as expected in my outlook.com calendar.

However, outlook.com has not tried to refresh the feed for two days now, and, consequently, changes are not shown in outlook.com. Now, other software in which I imported the exact same feed, e.g. the OS X calendar app and my Google calendar, do see the updates just fine. Only outlook.com does not refresh the feed, at least not in over 48 hours now.

Don't hold your breath. So far Microsoft has done absolutely nothing in the year or more this thread has been running, other than utter meaningless platitudes about how "I'd be glad to assist you on your concern with regards to syncing your Outlook.com calendar to Google calendar."

It can't be a difficult problem to solve. Clearly Microsoft isn't interested in doing so.

It is not a difficult problem to solve at all. The idea solution would be to simply implement CalDAV in the Calendar App. This would take one programmer about a day worth of work. It has already been implemented on Windows Phone 8.1.

This is the single largest complaint I have with Windows 8.1 and it might be the deal breaker when it's time to upgrade my Surface 2.

This workaround is successful for me. I use Office 2013 and am syncing my gmail / google calendar.

To trick Outlook into refreshing an Internet Calendar, go to

File:: Account Settings:: Account Settings (button):: Internet Calendars (tab)

Then choose the calendar you wish to refresh, click "Change...", stick a space in the description (or remove a space), then click OK.

Your calendar should now be refreshed.

I understand that you are having problem with the refresh time of your subscribed calendar. As stated in this **Support Article**, whenever the owner of an iCal you've subscribed to makes changes to the events, Outlook.com updates your calendar. Note that this update can take more than 24 hours.

As previously mentioned by colleagues in this thread, Microsoft isn't responsible for the accuracy or content of any third-party calendars. We recommend you review the terms and conditions before importing or subscribing to any third-party calendars.

If you are still having this problem, what I can suggest you to do now is to fill up our Private Support form. (You may need to sign in to view the form). Please provide all information in the form like the Calendar name, the link of the calendar you are subscribing and your affected email address so that we can investigate it on our end. We can also take that chance to provide support to you individually because we believe that loyal users like you deserves a better support service.

Note: I'll be locking this thread now for future replies. For others who are having the same issue or having issues with their Subscribed Calendars, please post using our Private Support form.
