Calendar subscription does not refresh

I have same issue. Please tell me if you are going to fix this or will be just the 24-48-72.. hs waiting for the update forever. 

Does not make any sense for a CALENDAR those timings. I will change to google ... and my surface will go back to best buy...

So basically what you are saying is that From May until October (5 months) you can't (more like refuse) to address a very serious calendar sync problem which comes down to a simple refresh issue. If this issue actually given to ONE programmer to fix it would be done in a day. Its simple "Increase the refresh rate". Once hour would be fine. The truth is Microsoft doesn't want to fix it because you want everyone on Outlook. Period! 

I'm so pissed! I bought a windows 8 computer and a windows 8 phone but I in order for me to do my job (to afford this MS stuff) I need to be organised and sorry  I can't use Outlook because of my project/task management does not integrate with it. Guess I should have really did my home work.  

This should have been fixed a long time ago. How do you expect to gain market share if the mobile phone experience is hindered by something so simple? I was Android user who decided to go with a with a Windows phone. I'm already missing several apps but to not be able sync my calendar is just is excusable for a company like Microsoft. )))))))))

I have removed and re-added several times.  In the end I decided to wait and see what, if anything, would happen.

On checking, the sync has now occurred, about 90+ hours after the previous sync.

Another calendar I was testing synced about 50+ hours after the event, but has not synced in the last 36 hours or so.

I installed the latest version of Outlook Hotmail connector before starting this saga.

Users need to know:

• the events will, in fact, sync (not "usually" sync)
• when/how often the events will sync

Syncing on a random basis days after the event is simply not satisfactory.  The software is not reliable enough to depend on , and the tardy response to complaints going back months does Microsofts reputation no good at all.

I had hoped for good things from a Microsoft Surface tablet.  Although not (apparently) a hardware problem, I cannot recommend this set up to anyone.  Very disappointing.

Thanks for the information. As I understand, events you have added on your MS Office Outlook is not syncing to your Outlook.com Calendar.

As initial troubleshooting, please try removing and re-adding your Outlook.com in MS Office Outlook. You may refer to this article for steps on how to do this: Add Outlook.com to Outlook

Also, make sure that you have the latest version of Outlook Hotmail Connector.

I'm not an expert or a support person, and I do understand your frustration with the official responses in this thread. If the only answer is going to be "we're working on it but have no specific timetable" for well over 6 months now, why even bother responding? Or "24-48 hours" sync time -- that is not sync, that is, well, something else "not sync".

Having said that, I experience delays only when I am using an external internet calendar (such as Tripit). My desktop Outlook calendars (one Outlook.com and one an Exchange server) sync correctly and swiftly between my Surface, Outlook on my desktop, Outlook.com, Modern UI calendar, and Windows Phone 8 calendars. As does email. In fact, it is the best sync experience I have ever had in over 15 years of trying to sync calendars and email across devices. At least as good as I had with Google and Android, and better than I've had with Mac and iPhone.

Staying entirely within one "ecosystem" seems to help a bunch. Ironically, the most prolific cross-device app these days seems to be SkyDrive, Outlook, and Office. Still, I use a mixture of Amazon, iThings, MacThings and Microsoft cloud apps. Devices are MacBook Air for laptop, Surface for tablet, iPod for music, HTC 8x Win Phone 8.  I had to give up on Google when they started shutting out my Windows phone and Outlook sync. I have a Droid in my drawer, but I'll be darned if I'm going to switch phones or go backward just to be able to use Gmail, etc.

Seems like what you want to do should be working unless you are relying on an internet Calendar. Good luck.

Does it mean it usually syncs, but sometimes doesn't.

Or does it mean that the sync should take place within 48 hours, but sometimes doesn't.

Why cant it be changed.  A random refresh interval measured in days is hardly cutting edge technology.

I have been running a test on a particular subscribed calendar.  It last updated at 0940 on Saturday morning.  It is now 1530 on Monday.  Well over 48 hours and no update?

This very frustrating.  I had hoped for good things when I bought a Windows Tablet.  Not so much.

I was able to sync happily with Google Calendar, at a regular interval, but that facility has been dumped (not sure by whom - presumably Google).

What I have referred to in my last post is all Microsoft - a calendar on MS Outlook on my laptop, which I want to sync (2 way) with a Calendar on my MS Surface RT Tablet.
