Calendar subscription does not refresh

In outlook.com I subscribed to my TripIt calendar feed. In outlook.com I went to Import > Subscribe, and entered the ical feed URL that I got from TripIt. The URL looks like this (redacted for privacy reasons): https://www.tripit.com/feed/ical/private/<<long id here>>/tripit.ics. The initial import worked perfectly and all the events from TripIt show as expected in my outlook.com calendar.

However, outlook.com has not tried to refresh the feed for two days now, and, consequently, changes are not shown in outlook.com. Now, other software in which I imported the exact same feed, e.g. the OS X calendar app and my Google calendar, do see the updates just fine. Only outlook.com does not refresh the feed, at least not in over 48 hours now.

    Hi MS Team,

i also am interested in an update to this?  I like the Outlook.com presentation, but if i can't get an auto refresh with my own privately published calendar, I guess I will have to go with google....

    thanks!

Okay, interesting one.  I subscribed to the same .ICS calendar with a completely different outlook.com account and guess what? The Last Refreshed date/time shows the same as the first outlook.com, plus the changes to the calendar that have happened since the first subscription are not reflected, even though they are changed in the .ICS file.

My conclusion is that outlook.com must centralise the subscription if one account subscribes to a calendar, therefore re-subscribing to the calendar will not work!

MSTeam, please please please escalate this issue urgently - or at least find out when the services will be re-started.

    Many thanks

    John

    Hi MSTeam,

Any update on a fix for this?

I found it is possible to sync internet calendars via Google Calendar, is this the only option open to us i.e. moving to Google or IS there a fix in the pipeline from Microsoft?

    Many thanks

    John

    Hi Erikdoe,

Thank you for your feedback. We currently don't have any option to fix this (and currently aware of this behavior).

As for now, the workaround is to re-subscribe to the calendar in question to refresh the poll (24-48hrs). If the expected event didn't appear, please re-subscribe.

Please accept my deepest apology for making disappointed. Moving forward, I'll follow up this issue to our Engineers and see if they can improve/fix this in the new update.

In addition, I suggest that you send a feedback here.

    Thank you,

    Ron
