Outlook.com Calendar cannot be added to iCal

Hello,

I have a Macbook and want to use my Outlook.com account on iCal.   I would like to use this as my primary calendar to add all events and invite attendees so that it is in the Outlook.com cloud.   I cannot seem to add it using the Mac preferences.  Please help.

Hey!

Choose Exchange and when it asks Username its your email address. Then it asks Internal Server and External Server so those are both outlook.office365.com. Worked for me.

    Oh my gosh , what a thread ...i was looking for a solution about this prob and i found this... wake up Microsoft ...there are other competitors around you ...dammit ..caldav webdav.... is that new for you ?

    Outlook.com now support IMAP for email sync!

    The following are the settings:

    • Incoming IMAP mail server: imap-mail.outlook.com
    • Incoming IMAP mail server port: 993
    • Encryption: SSL SMTP
    • Outgoing SMTP mail server: smtp-mail.outlook.com
    • Outgoing SMTP mail server port: 587
    • Encryption: TLS

    I still haven't found any solution for syncing with iCal...

    This is awful from Microsoft, are we still not able to subscribe to our calendars via iCal? Even if it is read only?

    If you must use iCal, you can pipe your requests through a local DavMail server (http://davmail.sourceforge.net). It converts standard IMAP, CardDAV, and CalDAV requests into Microsoft Exchange requests, suitable for Outlook.com.

    Alternatively, buy BusyCal (http://www.busymac.com/busycal/), which can talk directly Outlook.com.
