Outlook.com Calendar cannot be added to iCal

Hello,

I have a Macbook and want to use my Outlook.com account on iCal.   I would like to use this as my primary calendar to add all events and invite attendees so that it is in the Outlook.com cloud.   I cannot seem to add it using the Mac preferences.  Please help.

Hey!

Choose Exchange and when it asks Username its your email address. Then it asks Internal Server and External Server so those are both outlook.office365.com. Worked for me.

    This is brilliant! I agree so completely. I have wasted so much of my time trying to get calendars working properly in outlook for mac. I'm so exhausted from it - and I can't keep track of myself and my work - because my damn calendars won't function properly. This issue is effecting my whole life and the solution should be SIMPLE! Can't believe I am paying for office 365 + Outlook software - Apple software was great, but large corporations use Outlook - which won't accept the iCal invites etc. iCal has no problems accepting outlook invites. When oh when can I stop beating my head against this Microsoft wall????????? I am a VERY unhappy customer.

    I feel like I'm in some weird alternate universe where the Forum Moderators are just commenting random sentences to confuse the people commenting on this thread. Maybe as a way of "punishing" Apple users.

    Seriously, read each reply by a Forum Moderator. It's all bad English that makes no sense because it places the blame on Apple even though MICROSOFT doesn't provide an open standard like CalDAV. 

    For everyone else: Pretty soon, Microsoft will be transitioning Outlook.com over to Exchange. Meaning that when this happens, our issues should be mostly gone. Adding an Outlook.com account (Mailbox/Calendar/Contacts) should work just like adding an Exchange/Office 365 account.

    Hi Denise. The OP obviously wants to add events and accept invites from the Apple Calendar App. How is this supposed to work with a subscribed calendar?

    Hi,

    I have some great news. I'm in the Outlook.com Preview program.

    I was able the connect my outlook.com account to iCal by using Exchange.

    Open iCal -> Click on iCal and select Add account. Select Exchange. Enter your name, outlook email, password and click next. Now you should be able to select Calendar.

    As far as I know these changes should be available at the end of August 2016. Otherwise you can join the beta program for outlook.com! :-)
