Outlook.com Calendar cannot be added to iCal

Hello,

I have a Macbook and want to use my Outlook.com account on iCal.   I would like to use this as my primary calendar to add all events and invite attendees so that it is in the Outlook.com cloud.   I cannot seem to add it using the Mac preferences.  Please help.

Hey!

Choose Exchange and when it asks Username its your email address. Then it asks Internal Server and External Server so those are both outlook.office365.com. Worked for me.

    Hello Brian and Max,

    I am trying to chance it, but the lines where its written "webcals:\" is read only, it does not accept changes, can you help me with that ?

    It's not on your Mac.  It is on the http://calendar.live.com/ web site.  You said you wanted to see your Outlook.com calendar on your Mac.  Log into http://calendar.live.com/, click Share, then My Calendar.  Click "Get a link" and follow the instructions Max B-H gave.

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

    Could you please tell me where to find the "box" to replace "webcals://" by "https://"; I looked around but could not find it in the Apple Calendar software ?!

    Note that I am using Calendar on my MacBook.

    m_177 and SamiFa: you should be able to subscribe to your Outlook.com calendar in iCal (I just tried it and it worked)--the trick is to replace the "webcals://" in the calendar event details sharing link you generate from the web interface with "https://". Let me know if you're running into problems and I can investigate further. 

    Alan: We do also offer a REST API which allows you to modify your calendar, and we support a protocol called FeedSync that the Windows Live Mail desktop client and the Hotmail Connector that is used by versions of Outlook on Windows prior to 2013, but we don't offer CalDAV or EWS endpoints. Thus, the best out-of-browser experience we presently offer on the Mac is the read-only ICS subscription.
