I've tried and tried.  The only thing I can do with a group is add, delete, or change its name.  I want to add more contacts.  Was very easy the old hotmail way.

Hi Radio Flyer,

Update May, 2013: We've released some changes this month on how you navigate around the People page. These changes were made to make it more consistent with how your contacts are presented. The Groups' dropdown menu have been removed and Groups have been integrated to your contacts list. Please see screenshot below which I hope clears some of the changes up for you.

NOTE: You can also search for your group by typing the group name in the search box just like searching for a contact.

The next screenshots shows how you can add a group member

After clicking save the screen refreshes and you should see the new member on the right pane.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have follow up questions.

Thanks

Hi Jean H.,

I will be glad to assist you with your concern. If you don't want to have your facebook contacts on your Outlook.com account,  you can follow the steps below on how to disable the option.

  1. Log in on your account.
  2. Hover your mouse to the Gear Icon on the top right corner beside your name.
  3. Select Mail more settings.
  4. Under Reading email, select Content from third-party networks.
  5. Under Showing public content, select Don't show public content from third-party networks.
  6. Save

If you have further question, let us know.

Thank you.

Thank you for your reply.  As has already been pointed out by others there are still major problems with the GROUPS.

    1st scenario.

My organisation may have their contacts listed under several GROUPS depending upon who needs to be contacted by email.

e.g. John Smith is in the following groups:

    Member

    Artist

    Studio

    Committee

Please tell me how I can quickly (as I could earlier) check which groups he is in without manually checking in EVERY group?

    2nd Scenario

On of the volunteers has added a new contact but I don't know which group (if any) that person has been added to - how to I quickly check this?  Do I have to scroll down through all of my contacts (over 500), click on each group and then look through each group until I find the person that I was enquiring about.

It is of utmost importance within our organisation that the right person gets the right communication.  This new system is incredibly cumbersome and leave us open to sending the an email to the wrong person because the groups cannot be easily managed.

PLEASE try to put yourself in our situation in the real world rather than just say that this is the way it is from now on.
