How do I add a contact to an existing Group in this new Outlook??

I've tried and tried. The only thing I can do with a group is add, delete, or change its name. I want to add more contacts. Was very easy the old hotmail way.

Hi Radio Flyer,

Update May, 2013: We've released some changes this month on how you navigate around the People page. These changes were made to make it more consistent with how your contacts are presented. The Groups' dropdown menu have been removed and Groups have been integrated to your contacts list. Please see screenshot below which I hope clears some of the changes up for you.

NOTE: You can also search for your group by typing the group name in the search box just like searching for a contact.

The next screenshots shows how you can add a group member

After clicking save the screen refreshes and you should see the new member on the right pane.

Hi Jean H.,

I will be glad to assist you with your concern. If you don't want to have your facebook contacts on your Outlook.com account, you can follow the steps below on how to disable the option.

Log in on your account.
Hover your mouse to the Gear Icon on the top right corner beside your name.
Select Mail more settings.
Under Reading email, select Content from third-party networks.
Under Showing public content, select Don't show public content from third-party networks.
Save

Francesca, To add a contact:-

go to people, enter group name, select group but leave the check box blank, click Edit

type contact's name in box select from list that appears and save. Hope this helps

Reposing my comment of 4th July:

The fact that checking or not checking a box is so significant is another indicator of such a bad design.

Again - the facilities to genuinely manage contacts in groups was available, but was removed without warning or any communication at all.

Many of us have posted the specifics on this - without any response or even acknowledgement. I can only believe, as I have stated before, that this is an attempt to resolve a performance issue as many millions migrate to outlook.

There are methods to resolve this as many data architects would agree. All we ask is some acknowledgement of the issue and some idea of the timeline to 'resolve'. I will continue with my workarounds - but not if I continue to hit this brick wall.

For those wanting to see what groups a contact is in, and to have (again) all groups together, will post my workaround. It does work, but is painful - but better than nothing.

I guess the proposed organisation changes at Microsoft will be a good excuse to ignore us for longer - though I genuinely hope not.
