How do I add a contact to an existing Group in this new Outlook??

I've tried and tried.  The only thing I can do with a group is add, delete, or change its name.  I want to add more contacts.  Was very easy the old hotmail way.

Hi Radio Flyer,

Update May, 2013: We've released some changes this month on how you navigate around the People page. These changes were made to make it more consistent with how your contacts are presented. The Groups' dropdown menu have been removed and Groups have been integrated to your contacts list. Please see screenshot below which I hope clears some of the changes up for you.

NOTE: You can also search for your group by typing the group name in the search box just like searching for a contact.

The next screenshots shows how you can add a group member

After clicking save the screen refreshes and you should see the new member on the right pane.

Hi Jean H.,

I will be glad to assist you with your concern. If you don't want to have your facebook contacts on your Outlook.com account,  you can follow the steps below on how to disable the option.

  1. Log in on your account.
  2. Hover your mouse to the Gear Icon on the top right corner beside your name.
  3. Select Mail more settings.
  4. Under Reading email, select Content from third-party networks.
  5. Under Showing public content, select Don't show public content from third-party networks.
  6. Save

Francesca,  To add a contact:-

go to people, enter group name, select group but leave the check box blank, click Edit

type contact's name in box select from list that appears and save.  Hope this helps

    So, you are saying that the old way of presenting Groups to users so that we could add, delete or confirm whether one of our Contacts was in a group or not ... has now become imprudent, impractical or infeasible for Microsoft to continue.

    REALLY?

    The prior functionality was imprudent, impractical and infeasible? I guess it took Microsoft a while to figure out that functionality that Google provides with Gmail and that Microsoft had, in fact, provided with Outlook.com is just imprudent ...

    I thought by purchasing a Windows 8 phone, for example, was buying into Microsoft. Since you are saying that is not sufficient, as I am not paying Microsoft extra money for this email feature, I shouldn't complain about anything because at any time whatsoever Microsoft can decide to just ditch any feature on the site, not to mention the site itself? Maybe one morning I will just wake up to discover that all of my contacts, email, calendars, etc, are just gone because someone at Microsoft decided to flip the switch off?

    The responses you and your brethren have provided in response to our questions and/or complaints is not just unfriendly and not just laughable, but, honestly, quite stupid. This is not how you gain and keep customers. You are basically telling me to take my business elsewhere ... to whom? BlackBerry? I guess I could do that. I used to use a BlackBerry phone and I actually liked it. At least I can connect a BlackBerry phone to my computer and backup my contacts separately unlike Windows Phone 8, which doesn't offer that functionality at all. Since you are telling me that Outlook.com is just a courtesy service that can disappear at any moment, I should just leave now.
