Exchange ActiveSync won't sync contacts on Android

Hi,

I've been having a problem with Exchange ActiveSync on my Android phone. Calendar and E-mails sync fine without any problems. However, my contacts won't sync properly. My contacts sync the first time I set up my account on my phone using Exchange ActiveSync but afterwards if I make any changes or add new contacts on my phone then it won't sync to Outlook.com. The same situation arises if I modify or create a new contact on the web at Outlook.com; I don't see these changes being synced to my phone. 2-way syncing is not working for my contacts.

I have removed and re-added my Outlook account on my phone multiple times but the problem persists. I am using a Nexus 4, running the latest version of Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1

Can you please fix this?? It is extremely annoying and inconvenient. I don't want to use the Hotmail or Outlook apps since they are very limited in functionality and a big battery drain on the phone.

Thanks.

    Hi drewmclean311,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community forum. We understand that you're having the same issue on contacts not syncing on your mobile device.

    For us to provide an accurate resolution on your concern, please help us clarify things first by providing the needed information for the following questions:

    • Have you already tried reconfiguring your account on your phone?
    • Does issue also occurs when a different account is set up on your mobile device?
    • What is the exact error message you received if there's any?
    • Are the not syncing contacts from your Outlook.com account or are they from a connected service such as Facebook, Google Contacts, LinkedIn and etc.?

    We look forward to your reply.

    Thank you.

    Hi Ult1me PL and José de Vilhena Gonçalves,

    @Ult1me PL,

    Thanks for posting back. What I provided is the instructions for Exchange Active Sync which in Android, it's the Outlook.com application. You can use the settings that you've used before (to when you have encountered the issue) and check if everything is working fine now.

    If you have clarifications related to this topic, please post back. We'll be more than happy to help you.
