Exchange ActiveSync won't sync contacts on Android

Hi,

I've been having a problem with Exchange ActiveSync on my Android phone. Calendar and E-mails sync fine without any problems. However, my contacts won't sync properly. My contacts sync the first time I set up my account on my phone using Exchange ActiveSync but afterwards if I make any changes or add new contacts on my phone then it won't sync to Outlook.com. The same situation arises if I modify or create a new contact on the web at Outlook.com; I don't see these changes being synced to my phone. 2-way syncing is not working for my contacts.

I have removed and re-added my Outlook account on my phone multiple times but the problem persists. I am using a Nexus 4, running the latest version of Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1

Can you please fix this?? It is extremely annoying and inconvenient. I don't want to use the Hotmail or Outlook apps since they are very limited in functionality and a big battery drain on the phone.

Thanks.

    solution:

this is what solved it for me:

    1. Don't use the app "scanBizCards" or third party apps that add contacts.  if you did, remove the exchange account and set it up again.
    2. Stop Skype from syncing contacts.

So far 2 way contact sync works again

Microsoft if you want to write me a check i'll give you my contact...

I started this post on January 30, 2013 to resolve this issue. 4 months later it is still not resolved. At this point I am completely fed up with the lack of resolution.

I am no longer allowing any of your support specialists access to my account. Can you please respond with a link so I can reset my password. I repeat, I DO NOT want anyone accessing my account anymore. I am revoking all privileges to my account. Please respond to let me know you are complying with my request and send me a password reset link.

    HI sufferers

I am not sure if this assists but it worked for me after some hours of trial and error.

    • Exported contacts from phone and pc to one folder on pc (Yes, duplicates were permitted in this case)
    • Dowloaded duplicate killer onto pc and ran through its options in outlook 2010
    • Downloaded wondershare go mobile to pc
    • Connected Galaxy S4 and cleaned up duplicates (None of the above is specifically relevant to the fault but a nice step to cleaning up over 2000 contacts in my case)
    • Did a back up on Wondershare so phone data was at least copied
    • Set phone to flight mode to eliminate syncs
    • Deleted outlook (cloud) and microsoft exchange from phone
    • Deleted contacts from outlook (Cloud)
    • Deleted contacts from outllook 2010 on pc
    • Switched phone off and restarted
    • Created new hotmail active sync account on phone
    • Used wondershare go mobile to import contacts from pc to phone (Into microsoft exchange account on phone)
    • Turned off flight mode and allowed microsoft exchange to sync calendar, contacts, email and tasks
    • Created outlook account on phone but did not allow calendar or contacts to sync
    • Checked outlook (Cloud) and saw all contacts downloaded
    • Opened outlook 2010 on pc and noted all contacts downloading
    • Added a contact on outlook 2010 and it appeared on outlook (Cloud) and phone
    • Did the same on phone and it duplicated on cloud and pc

Took considerable time and paid for duplicate killer (Probably didnt need that one though)

Loved wondershare and will pay for this one when 14 day trial runs out. Great bit of software

Good luck to you all, hope you are at least as successful
