Exchange ActiveSync won't sync contacts on Android

Hi,

I've been having a problem with Exchange ActiveSync on my Android phone. Calendar and E-mails sync fine without any problems. However, my contacts won't sync properly. My contacts sync the first time I set up my account on my phone using Exchange ActiveSync but afterwards if I make any changes or add new contacts on my phone then it won't sync to Outlook.com. The same situation arises if I modify or create a new contact on the web at Outlook.com; I don't see these changes being synced to my phone. 2-way syncing is not working for my contacts.

I have removed and re-added my Outlook account on my phone multiple times but the problem persists. I am using a Nexus 4, running the latest version of Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1

Can you please fix this?? It is extremely annoying and inconvenient. I don't want to use the Hotmail or Outlook apps since they are very limited in functionality and a big battery drain on the phone.

Thanks.

    Hi,

Welcome to the Microsoft community. It seems that you encounter a problem setting-up Outlook.com using Exchange Activesync on my Symbian belle (Nokia 808) but doesn't happen with your office e-mail.

Please check the link on Ken_Rey_C.'s post in this thread for the correct server name.

I've moved the information to the private message.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Thanks!

    Hi

    I also have problem in setup outlook.com with Exchange Activesync on my symbian belle (nokia 808). However, I faced no problem if setup my office email with Symbian Exchange Activesync. So I suspect the problem might be on server side. Below are my details;

    (Removed PII for security purposes)

I also test my office email address and my outlook.com email address on this website: https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/ . Guest what my outlook.com email failed this test.

Appreciated if you can check my account. Thanks

    Hi TheOne-RajaBabu,

Our Support Specialist actually made an adjustment on your account as well. Please reconfigure your account on your mobile device and check if the issue has now been resolved.

    Thank you.

Is there any chance you could tell us what this adjustment was?  This problem is reported constantly and has been for years, and each time the dialog starts from square one, sometimes taking months to resolve, and it always ends with "Our specialists made an adjustment to your account".  In my case, my company's help desk person told me, after weeks of trying this and that, that the exchange server engineers had made an adjustment, and voila, it started working, but there was no way to find out what that adjustment was.

If someone would say what this adjustment is, we could spread the word and turn these months of battling into "ask your server administrator to ..."

Ok, I have posted my account address in private reply.

ad #2: Do you format your PC every time Outlook gets corrupted? Pls, don't advise such thing. Resetting my phone would have to be really only the last possible resort.

I've done clearing cache and removing my account from phone several times, but it just stops syncing at one point. And I normally do not notice it soon enough, so I already made some changes to contacts, which are not sync then and after removing account I lose all those changes. I really hate this.

    Thank you for your help.
