FACEBOOK CHAT NOT WORKING

Looks like now things are back up and running...

What has changed I don't know.

Only suspect is that I did put myself offline on the phone. Then I went on outlook.com and put myself offline and online again.

After some hours I switched back my facebook status online on my phone message setting.

After all messages are going and coming and also synced to the outlook.com messaging.

Boh! But good that now it works for me.

I was facing the same issue, so let me tell what solved it to me. Microsoft didn't give a damn to even answer my question about facebook chat not working with their services (Outlook, Messaging App, WLM (both desktop and iPhone app), so thanks to one 3rd app trying to hack in my facebook acc I received an email from facebook  telling me to change my password, which I did. Some minutes after changing my facebook password, Microsoft sent me an email informing me that they were having issues with connect my account -- because of the password change -- and that could be solved by re-connecting. After I reconnected my account, magically services started to work again -- and still working. That solved the issue to me. 

Instructions: Change your facebook password then wait for an email from Microsoft to reconnect your account. I hope it helps.

Actually I've tried to follow your steps earlier but it didn't helped. Just curious to know something extra from you - My Facebook account has login notifications enabled, device notification enabled and runs on HTTPS compulsorily. Can you just test out with this combination on your end? I'll be much more grateful to you to know your experience on this combination.

I too have tried the password reset and it did work.  It was almost as if Facebook was blocking and everything needed reset.  I had exhausted all other options including resetting my Windows Phone.  Thanks Victor

I have the same problem, thing is now I have facebook chat connected but it's not ON.

When I click on Facebook chat - > On . it never changes it's always off

I tried reconnecting, changing passwords.. everything but nothing worked.

I got it solved, 

first I did this one by one, and it seems that the order is very important to get it to work.

First remove facebook connection from Hotmail then sign out of Hotmail.

Then on facebook change your password and make sure you select log out of all services.

When facebook logs you back in. make sure you log out from facebook too.

Then log on to Hotmail. Connect facebook once again. when you try to connect facebook it will redirect you to the facebook login page.

Type in your FB username and new password. it will take few seconds to connect. then it will send you back to the hotmail application page.

go to hotmail. go online and check your facebook chat presence.

Make sure you use Internet Explorer not Chrome.

This worked for me.

This method did not work for me. I tried all the steps you mentioned but my Facebook chat from Hotmail is still not working. The Facebook chat feature is also not working on Windows Phone. Please help.
