Outlook for Mac 15.3 (Outlook 365) gets hung up on Sync Pending

When you see the message that Sync is Pending it just lets you know that there will be changes made during the next sync. That doesn't mean there's a problem, it just lets you know that changes are pending.

This is not accurate.  

Once you get a Sync is Pending you have to restart Outlook at a minimum sometimes restart the Mac and often just have to give up and go back to v2011 or use a web version.  And before you try to blame the exchange version (which no user using Outlook has any influence over anyway) my companies is 14.3.123.0 according to OWA which I think is 2010 SP3. 

This is a bug with the Outlook 2015 and not with the Exchange server, the user or anything else because as everyone as indicated the same account will work on Windows Outlook, OWA or even Apple mail with no problem.

Would also add that there is a reason this thread has 2800+ views and counting vs all the others with < 50 in the forum.

Once Sync Pending shows up without disappearing quickly, the only solution is to quit Outlook and restart it.  If you don't do that, it will just sit forever with the sync pending message and not download new mail.  This is reproducible across a number of MacBook Pros/Airs in our company.   I have tried just about everything I can think of with no success (disabled power nap, reinstall etc.) - this has to be an Outlook application issue and not a Mac OS X issue.  

It would be helpful for Microsoft to fix this immediately or at least give us some indication when it will be fixed. I have stopped deployment of this version of Outlook in our company because of this issue.

Ditto, Mark. We stopped deployment all together after discovering this issue. It's a deal-breaker.

14.4.8 update today did nothing to resolve the issue.

This has been happening to me for a little while, but recently it suddenly got worse.  Possibly since installing 15.6.  Its seems to last about 5 minutes before it gets stuck Sync Pending again.  

• Flipping it offline for a bit rarely works
• Changing network (connect the VPN, going between WIFI and ethernet) sometimes makes a flood of emails come in
• Restarting Outlook also only seems to solve it temporarily
• The discussions in this thread about the Exchange version are surely irrelevant because we're using services hosted by Microsoft via Office 365

Basically the new Outlook has become useless and is causing communication problems at work.  The uninstall directions are utterly ridiculous: Microsoft, if you're not going to keep things simple and put everything under /Applications/Outlook.app so that I can drag it to the trash, and if you are going to insist on doing that Windows thing of scattering things all over the hard drive, could you please provide a proper uninstall script?

Agree with everyone else. This is ridiculous, and right now I cannot get the previous version installed, and I am not seeing any effort from Microsoft to fix this. It stinks because in every other way it fixed what I hated about Outlook for Mac...
