Using older versions of Outlook for Mac in business environments
I have the same problem. Unbelievable this is going on for months now.

Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
The only way to fix this is to reboot outlook. I end up doing this 10 time a day. Is there any fix?

When you see the message that Sync is Pending it just lets you know that there will be changes made during the next sync. That doesn't mean there's a problem, it just lets you know that changes are pending.
Jim -
Have you read this thread? I don't think you'd get 8 pages of comments about a mere status message.
The problem is that the 'next sync' never comes.
I see you are an MVP and Community Moderator - perhaps you can ask someone from Microsoft to read this thread and acknowledge the issue and actually start to investgate/fix it.
Thanks

This it the kind of useless comment that we've come to expect from Microsoft. Why not just tell us that we've created a conflict ourselves or maybe we just need to reboot.
I am paying for a product that you broke. Straight up, you broke the coding of this product. When a completely clean full, new install of nothing but the OS and your product does not work and you have no response - it's on you.
Fix the program or don't charge for it. I've had to switch from Windows already because I need a stable OS, I'm already backing off using 365 altogether. the Windows version is not much better. You leave me no choice.
MS has not even provided a date for a new release. I bet if the Surface had this issue you'd be all over it.
It's like Windows ME all over again.
Once Sync Pending shows up without disappearing quickly, the only solution is to quit Outlook and restart it. If you don't do that, it will just sit forever with the sync pending message and not download new mail. This is reproducible across a number of MacBook Pros/Airs in our company. I have tried just about everything I can think of with no success (disabled power nap, reinstall etc.) - this has to be an Outlook application issue and not a Mac OS X issue.
It would be helpful for Microsoft to fix this immediately or at least give us some indication when it will be fixed. I have stopped deployment of this version of Outlook in our company because of this issue.
