The only way to fix this is to reboot outlook. I end up doing this 10 time a day. Is there any fix?

If that's the case, then Microsoft needs to remove support from the Outlook client by blocking attempts to connect to the server and say "Contact your Exchange Administrator to upgrade their server".  Instead, they are "pretending" to support it, and making customers risk losing their jobs by not getting emails in a timely manner.

    Hi

Any word from Microsoft here? Outlook is USELESS for me in this state. Right now, it showing last received mail from 26/11 - so it hasn't brought in anything for 5 days. I just use Outlook.com these days, but this needs to get fixed.

Outlook 15 introduced to such fanfare, and i find its worse than its predecessor (almost hard to believe). I uninstalled Postbox for this junk, guess I'll be going back to it.

    Grrrr.

There won't be a fix for anything earlier than Exchange 2010 SP2. Microsoft has chosen this as the minimum it will support.

Some of us are using Microsoft Outlook 2014 to connect to our corporate Exchange accounts and don't have the power to force our IT to upgrade to 2010 SP2.

Sounds like Microsoft might know that they have a problem with versions of Exchange prior to 2010 SP2.  If that is the case, they need to push out a fix to the Outlook 2014 client ASAP to detect this situation and remediate the problem on the client. If that means disabling push mail and going back to polling every few minutes, then so be it.  That's better than waiting forever for mail to arrive.  If the server side is out of date, that's nothing customers can control, (only our IT can control it) so MS should take steps on the client side to mitigate the damage for their customers, that's all I would argue at this point.

For now I'm continuing to run Apple Mail and Outlook 2014 side by side... just using Apple Mail so I know when I have new email!

BTW -- the problem originating on the server side might have merit, because I do NOT experience this problem with my own personal email hosted with Exchange 2013 at Rackspace... It's just my work account using 2010 prior to SP2 that is flaky.

I think Outlook for Mac is mostly (only?) available for Office 365 subscriptions at the moment. Doesn't that mean we are automatically on the latest Exchange?
