Still getting emails from blocked sender

I keep getting spam emails from the same senders even though I've already blocked their domains, as well as all of the other email addresses/domains that were found in the message sources.

  • WHY am I still receiving messages from domains that are blocked??
  • Why is there no option to simply block a sender's I.P. address?

All of the spam I receive comes from the same 3 or 4 I.P. addresses, but they have tons of domains at their disposal to spam people with.

I don't want to resort to creating a new 'rule' every time these idiots come up with a new domain to send their spam from. So before you suggest that I create a new rule for each and every one of these email addresses, my response to that is NO. I shouldn't have to. Aside from the fact that doing such a thing would be far too time-consuming, when I block someone, I expect my email provider to perform that function properly and without fail.

If messages from blocked senders arrive in your Inbox, then this is probably due to a bug that Microsoft knows about and, I've been told, is working on.

Are the messages arriving in the Inbox or the Junk folder? If the latter, everything is working as designed. Ignore the Junk folder.

not helpful, it come to my inbox daily.

    Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Community. We understand your frustration of still receiving emails from senders you have already blocked. We'll do our best to assist you regarding this matter.

We would like to inform you that there is no option to block IP addresses in Outlook.com. If you want to have this feature, you can send a feedback or suggestions to the Microsoft Product Team in this link as consideration for a future release.

If you still receive spam emails on your email account, I would suggest that you set your junk filter settings to Exclusive. If the Exclusive level was set, messages from senders not on your Contacts or Safe senders lists will have been sent to the Junk e-mail folder. To do this, please follow the steps below:

    1. On your inbox, click the gear icon and selectMore mail settings on the drop down list.
    2. Under Preventing junk email, click Filters and reporting.
    3. Under Choose a junk e-mail filter, choose Exclusive and then click Save.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Thank you.

    That did not work.

This isn't good advice because TechNet doesn't deal with the the web-based Outlook.com (formerly Hotmail).
