how do I add new contacts to the list in Outlook?

Add a contact from a message that you receive

• Open or preview the message that contains the name that you want to add to your contacts.
• Right-click the name of the sender who you want to make into a contact, and then click Add to Contacts on the shortcut menu.

This only works with emails you have received. Unless you get a response from someone so it is in your inbox you cannot use this step to add contacts. Not only that but MS have put an additional step in here where you have to first open the email before you can add them as a contact.

Sadly they have failed to retain the option for anyone you have sent an email to which is what I want to do. So unless you are lucky enough to get a pop up and then had the thought to save the contact at the time of emailing someone then you are still stuck resorting to manually adding an email address to your contacts.

I suggest two things. One, please allow right click from both inbox/sent items to save contacts sent to/from. Also allow multiple contact saving by tick boxing. Fingers crosses MS will include this on the next update rather then doing the opposite and leaving me with a chisel and stone to work with.

Yup, MS have lost a lot of the good stuff they used to do. Is it any wonder other competitors are always gaining on them?

I do not have a down arrow next to the Outlook.Com on the top left of the tool bar?
