how do I add new contacts to the list in Outlook?

Don't you love it how MS always replies with:

1. The exact same unhelpful information that has already been stated in the thread.
2. A reply that has nothing at all to do with the question.
3.  An answer, when/if finally relevant, is one that takes 5-7 steps to do something that used to take 1 step and in other programs still does.
4. Or. An answer, when/if finally relevant, is one that doesn't really do what you want it to do but is sort of an act-like-they-have-the-solution patch which works terribly if at all.

May I repeat. MS does not givea flying F- about its users. They just make programs the way they want to make them for their own convenience or bottom line, I do't know which. Each upgrade includes loss of essential functions. Bar none.

add conttact to hotmail

im using outlook and presupposing its the cloud based outlook. none of the solutions work above the prompt is not coming to me as well. there are no buttons to add at the top, in the down arrows, on the bottom, under more, under people, nada! no where. there is nothing wrong with this laptop im using. no need to reinstall?????al updates are on this laptop. it is 8.1. I get the idea that because these are google based and we have android behaviors and purchases and gmail works just fine that it is because unless we have a windows phone with purchases made only for free from google play that we cannot sync or utilize any ms service without ms purchases; and that free outlook accounts cannot use these type of software programming buttons, scripts, etc. seems fishy as heck!!!
