how do I add new contacts to the list in Outlook?

I have recently been upgraded to Outlook from Hotmail. I have sent an email to a new contact and I want to add them to my contacts list. In Hotmail I just needed to click on 'add to contacts' but Outlook does not appear tp have this facility. Can anybody help?

By reading your post your question is about adding new contacts to your MAIN contact list, not your Group contat list.

If yes, please follow these simple steps..yes................

How to add new contacts to your main contact list :

To access your main contact list:

Open outlook.com > top left next to the logo Outlook, there is a down arrow > click the arrow > click People > All your contacts are now listed on the left. Scroll down to see each contact.

How to add new contacts :

In the same People window, toolbar at top, click New > enter the required info into the boxes > click Save when done.

To Edit your contact list :

Click at the contact's name ( NOT its check box ) > toolbar at top, click Edit.

Note :

1. Edit option will not appear until you have selected a contact.
2. Edit option will not appear if you click at the contact's checkbox.

To delete a contact from the list :

Just click at the contact > toolbar at top, click Delete.

How can something so bloody obvious not be there?

For the record Win 7 was **** - Win 8/8.1 beggars belief.
