I have recently been upgraded to Outlook from Hotmail. I have sent an email to a new contact and I want to add them to my contacts list. In Hotmail I just needed to click on 'add to contacts' but Outlook does not appear tp have this facility. Can anybody help?

You gave some great info, but the problem is that I suspect Microsoft upgraded a product again in a brain dead mode.  In prior versions you were able to right click over an address on an email and easily transfer it into the outlook contacts.

maybe i should stand on my head and type with my toes to add a contact instead of clicking a radio contact to add it

    Hi Richard,

I am facing the same issue that this user is reporting. I have no way to add someone that I just sent an email to or to add someone from whom I Just received an email, unless I go to People and add them from scratch! This process is very inconvenient, especially when I could just added them with a right click on Hotmail or in the desktop version of the Outlook.

I am using a laptop with the latest windows 8.1 OS and the latest IE version, whatever that is. I am doing my best to stay with MS products, but I agreed with one of the users in the forum that MS is taking away nice/convenient functions that people want and force-feeding functions or ways of doing things that are inconvenient and time-wasting! I don't understand why!

    Please help!

    Thanks,

    John

    Hi,

I know how frustrating it is if you are unable to receive the prompt and I’m here to help you sort this out. I would like to make some clarifications to isolate the possible causes of your issue, please answer the following questions:

     - Does this happen on other browsers?

     - Does this happen on other accounts?

     - Do you update your browser?

     - Have you tried reinstalling your browser after the issue happened?

We recommend you to optimize your browser so that we can make sure your browser is not causing the issue.

Clearing the Internet Explorer cache can help improve its performance when you use it to access Outlook.com and other services.

Please refer to the link below for the steps:
