Using older versions of Outlook for Mac in business environments
Also.. It was stated "Make sure you don't quit app."
in the process it states to close Outlook.. I'm not sure difference between quitting and closing app?
thx !
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Outlook launches without a Home Screen.
Menu Items are accessible and function properly (i.e. compose and send email, access Accounts etc.).
However, Home Screen does not render and you cannot see (or access) Mailboxes, Calendar, Contacts etc.
Appreciate that this is an issue with Public Beta Version but Apple has now issued this to One Million Mac Users and plenty of Microsoft Users rely on Outlook for Mac so, will need to be resolved.

Hello.. Wonderful news
so just to confirm,, has this been tested on Outlook Exchange Server 2011/2013 ? Or on a POP account only?
And also.. If I reboot or restart .. Does this process needs to be redone every time ?
thanks
Matt
I've only tested with IMAP accounts so it should work with Exchange Server as well.
The only time you have to go through the sequence again is if you reboot (which I seldom do). It's worked for me 5 times now so it's just the 'band-aid' that's needed at this point.

This is the process that worked for me. Make sure you don't quit app. I did, so had to redo this process and back up and running.
-Close Outlook
-Delete com.microsoft.Outlook.plist from HD/Users/user/Library/Preferences
-Go to documents/microsoft user data/
-Save Main Identity
-delete the folder Microsoft 2011 Identities
-reboot
-restart Outlook
-Close Outlook
-delete the folder Microsoft 2011 Identities
-Delete com.microsoft.Outlook.plist from HD/Users/user/Library/Preferences
-reboot
-Copy Main Identity back into Microsoft 2011 Identities
this worked,
anyway,

worked once, then problem came back...
I just accomplished a successful window placement, using the above instructions, for the 6th time yesterday (beta 7 came out, requiring a restart). I've never had the procedure fail, had to start over again at any point, etc.
Are you sure that you didn't miss a step along the way? I've not tried any alternative simply because this solution has worked so well for me. The only thing I can suggest is trying again - reboot both times, follow the instructions to a 't.' It SHOULD work.
