You don't have to include that someone to your contact list in order to email him/her.

You can just simply type the address into the To box.

If you do want to add that person to your contact list...............

To access your main contact list:

Open outlook.com > top left next to the logo Outlook, there is a down arrow > click the arrow > click People > All your contacts are now listed on the left. Scroll down to see each contact.

How to add a new contact to your Contact List :

at the same People window , toolbar at top, click New > fill in the required info > click Save when done > the new contact is now included in your contact list.

This reminded me of an episode in the public lavatory at St Pancras station many years ago. There was a man standing at one of the urinals whose hands were shaking violently. When I had finished my business, he was still standing there, so I put my Good Samaritan hat on and asked if he needed a hand. He nodded and smiled, so I did the necessary. When all had been put away again and buttoned up, I remarked that it must be a terrible handicap to have such shaky hands. He turned to me and replied, "Oh, no, dearie, I don't have shaky hands. It's just that my nail varnish is taking an age to dry."

I have shaky hands.  My doctor says it is the worse case of shaky hands he has ever seen.  Then he asked if I drank much.  I said  NO  I spill everything.

Thanks for the tip. From now on I'll only answer the phone when I'm wearing gloves :)

Guess what?  I might know this one.  The phone has a volume control.  If you answer it just the right (wrong) way you can accidently  shut off the ringer.   I have the same trouble with touch screens.  Everything I "touch" goes away.  Sometimes far... far... away.   I am learning.  I started to wear cotton gloves with ONLY one finger cut off.  It keeps the screen cleaner.
