Some sent emails are stuck in OUtbox of Outlook.com android mobile app

I just found out why I haven't getting replies to some of my emails:  many of my sent emails over the past few weeks are sitting in my Outbox.  This would be in my Outlook.com mobile app on android.  I see no way to get them out of the outbox and sent.  not syncing or any other option available.  I am getting a message that I haven't been connected in a while, but that doesn't explain why I keep getting emails in my Inbox, and why only some emails don't get sent, and some emails are still in the outbox that are over two weeks old.

What should I do?  This is incredibly bad, if you think about it.   Do I move off of the Hotmail platform because it is proving to be unreliable?

I think I found the answer for my Droid.  The messages that pile up in the outbox are the ones that required a download of some attachment (photo, text, doc, etc) prior to sending.  If I forced the email in my inbox to fully load prior to forwarding or replying it sent just fine.  If it said that an attachment will be downloaded prior to sending it failed.

Hope that helps.

Yes, this is a sad commentary on the state of affairs at Microsoft.  So many of us want to believe. An app like Outlook mobile comes along and appears to be a work of genius.  Then we make the sickening discovery that none of our emails have been transmitted.

Deleting the  oldest  email  hung  up  in the Outbox also worked for me.

This worked.  Thanks.  As soon as I deleted the oldest e-mail in the Outbox, the others were sent immediately.  The recipients are going to wonder WTH, but this is a great solution.  Thanks.
