Some sent emails are stuck in OUtbox of Outlook.com android mobile app

I just found out why I haven't getting replies to some of my emails:  many of my sent emails over the past few weeks are sitting in my Outbox.  This would be in my Outlook.com mobile app on android.  I see no way to get them out of the outbox and sent.  not syncing or any other option available.  I am getting a message that I haven't been connected in a while, but that doesn't explain why I keep getting emails in my Inbox, and why only some emails don't get sent, and some emails are still in the outbox that are over two weeks old.

What should I do?  This is incredibly bad, if you think about it.   Do I move off of the Hotmail platform because it is proving to be unreliable?

I think I found the answer for my Droid.  The messages that pile up in the outbox are the ones that required a download of some attachment (photo, text, doc, etc) prior to sending.  If I forced the email in my inbox to fully load prior to forwarding or replying it sent just fine.  If it said that an attachment will be downloaded prior to sending it failed.

Hope that helps.

Yes, this is a sad commentary on the state of affairs at Microsoft.  So many of us want to believe. An app like Outlook mobile comes along and appears to be a work of genius.  Then we make the sickening discovery that none of our emails have been transmitted.

Removing your account also loses the messages in your Outbox. But that has the same end result of allowing subsequent email to actually be sent--removes the plug.

My first "stuck" email had an attachment and I suspect it didn't finish sending before my phone was turned off.

The biggest problem for me is there is no notification that this has happened. I only noticed email wasn't being sent when an important email did not get sent and my supervisor sent me "You have failed to send in the required information" type email this morning when I was SURE I had sent it . . .

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR GIVING ME A WORKAROUND. I WAS ABOUT TO ABANDON OUTLOOK MOBILE.

I hope this is fixed before it gets me into bigger trouble :(

Thanks for your help with this problem. I discovered today that two weeks worth of my emails had not been sent. It caused some real problems at work. I have downgraded my rating of the Outlook App to 1 star as a result of this problem and the general slowness and clunkiness of the app. Sad that Hot mail worked better than this. If Microsoft can't put out a better android app for Outlook I may move to gmail for all my work.
