Some sent emails are stuck in OUtbox of Outlook.com android mobile app

I just found out why I haven't getting replies to some of my emails:  many of my sent emails over the past few weeks are sitting in my Outbox.  This would be in my Outlook.com mobile app on android.  I see no way to get them out of the outbox and sent.  not syncing or any other option available.  I am getting a message that I haven't been connected in a while, but that doesn't explain why I keep getting emails in my Inbox, and why only some emails don't get sent, and some emails are still in the outbox that are over two weeks old.

What should I do?  This is incredibly bad, if you think about it.   Do I move off of the Hotmail platform because it is proving to be unreliable?

I think I found the answer for my Droid.  The messages that pile up in the outbox are the ones that required a download of some attachment (photo, text, doc, etc) prior to sending.  If I forced the email in my inbox to fully load prior to forwarding or replying it sent just fine.  If it said that an attachment will be downloaded prior to sending it failed.

Hope that helps.

Jeffrey, its apparent that this issue has yet to be resolved, and is unique to Outlook (hotmail) on Android devices in the 4.0+ iterations of the android operating system.    Why not simply acknowledge the problem exists  and offer immediate, though not ideal relief?    Refer to the reader who posted a solution that, at least, gets Outlook users out of the dead end situation when they find multiple important "sent" emails stuck in their outbox?  That solution is to simply delete the oldest of the emails stuck in the outbox while a verifiable wi-fi connection exists, and all the following outbox bound emails are instantly released and sent to their intended recipient.   Not a perfect solution, but at least it resolves the immediate problem we hotmail  clients suffer, without apparent, viable options to release their "imprisoned", but important messages.    When Microsoft help reps start pointing fingers at improper settings or corrupted apps, who benefits?     Then acknowledge the fact that this isn't a user initiated mistake,  so people that have chosen to use Outlook don't have to come searching for help that may or may not be found.    Sidestepping the existence of software compatibility or design shortcoming  brings this conclusion to mind:   if you aren't part of the solution, you are  part of the problem.

    Hi Troy,

I apologize for the delayed response and appreciate your patience.

In order to isolate the issue, I suggest you to log into your account from web mail like Internet Explorer on a computer and check if the e-mails are stuck in the Drafts folder. If no e-mails are in the drafts folder, check the sent folders if the e-mails are present. If the e-mails are in the sent folder, then your e-mails have been delivered and the problem lies with the Outlook.com app on Android. You can uninstall and re-install the app from the phone and check.

Please reply to us with the results so that we can assist you further.
