Some sent emails are stuck in OUtbox of Outlook.com android mobile app

I just found out why I haven't getting replies to some of my emails:  many of my sent emails over the past few weeks are sitting in my Outbox.  This would be in my Outlook.com mobile app on android.  I see no way to get them out of the outbox and sent.  not syncing or any other option available.  I am getting a message that I haven't been connected in a while, but that doesn't explain why I keep getting emails in my Inbox, and why only some emails don't get sent, and some emails are still in the outbox that are over two weeks old.

What should I do?  This is incredibly bad, if you think about it.   Do I move off of the Hotmail platform because it is proving to be unreliable?

I think I found the answer for my Droid.  The messages that pile up in the outbox are the ones that required a download of some attachment (photo, text, doc, etc) prior to sending.  If I forced the email in my inbox to fully load prior to forwarding or replying it sent just fine.  If it said that an attachment will be downloaded prior to sending it failed.

Hope that helps.

    Hi CliveSinclair,

We appreciate your time posting in Microsoft Community and we apologize for the delay in response. It seems like you have tried to to uninstall and reinstall the app however you are still unable to sync your account with Outlook.com app (Android).

We would like verify if you have tried the suggestion of Mary Grace to delete and then re-add your account with Outlook.com app. Furthermore, we would like to ask if your mobile is connected via mobile data or wifi connection. In case you are connected via mobile data, we would like you to try to connect via wifi with a strong connection. This procedure will help further isolate the issue.

Please take your time to try the suggestion and let me know the results at your earliest convenience. If anything is unclear or if there is anything I can do for you, please feel free to let me know.

    Thank you.

Same issues here. I've 'chatted' to Microsoft tech help several times and always told to uninstall/re-install the app. This does work for a few days and then it's the same fault.

Outlook for Android clearly has a problem and as yet can't, or is unwilling to fix it.

My Note 3 has been syncing folders for 25 minutes now and nothing. Even after doing a reset/purge.

    Hi,

Thank you for bringing the issue to our attention. I can understand your frustration on this. We'll gladly help resolve your issue with stuck emails.

Since you've mentioned that everything works fine on your Google Nexus tablet, we can then conclude that this is not an account-related issue. It is possible that you are experiencing this issue due to incorrect configuration.

Please confirm if you already tried to reconfigure (remove/re-add) your account to your Android phone. You may need to contact the manufacturer of your  Android phone for instructions on how to remove your account the said mobile device and refer to the article provided by Mary Grace A. on how to add it again.

Please let us know how you get on. This would help us facilitate our next actions. We'd love to hear from you again.

    Regards,

    Jeffrey

I had similar problem with Outlook mail on my Android cell phone. The e-mails in the Outbox folder were NEVER sent even though I had good Wifi connection. Funny, after I failed to get e-mails stuck in the Outbox to send. I tried my GMail account to send the same files on my Android phone. Maybe for some ODD reason, the Wifi service only worked on GMail but not on Outlook App. Because I waited a few minutes, all the e-mail in my GMail account were sent out fine. Meanwhile, the Microsoft Outlook App was still stuck without sending the e-mail in the Outbox folder. Maybe the Wifi service just selectively prohibit Outlook from working, but allowing my GMail to work.

Also, since June 29, 2014, the Outlook App on my Android cell phone stops working. I tried un-installing and re-installing Outlook App on my Google Play on my Android phone. I also tried shutting and re-starting my cell phone. But nothing works.

I sent MANY MANY feedback messages on my cell phone pleading for help on this Outlook App problem. But apparently, Microsoft employee morale must be so low. They caught the winds of the 8,000 employee layoffs one month earlier than the official announcements. So they just chose to ignore NUMEROUS plead for help messages from me. It is so hard to search for the IT Support for Outlook App online. It makes me wonder why there are no IT Support contact info readily searchable. It took me almost one month to accidentally land on this forum that seems to be quite active.

Meanwhile, my Outlook App on my Google Nexus tablet works fine. This Outlook App problem ONLY exists in my Android cell phone.

I feel very frustrated. And I regret sticking with Outlook mail when I should be 100% using Gmail. I just become too lazy to change my e-mail contact on so many accounts that I registered with.

Is this a big sign telling me I should ditch Outlook e-mail and 100% embracing GMail?
