sync outlook.com & outlook desktop application

i'm really loving outlook.com - jumped all in and moved everything over from gmail.

do you all have any plans to add some type of sync functionality between outlook.com and the outlook desktop application? i manage my contacts through the outlook desktop application, and it's a bit of a pain to export contacts from outlook desktop application to a .csv, then import into outlook.com. would sure be nice if there was a way to sync content to & from these two relatives, especially contacts & calendars.

Thank you for posting your concern here. I understand that you are having issue on synchronizing your contacts. For that concern, changes on your contacts using your mobile devices should automatically sync with your contacts on your Outlook.com desktop application using ActiveSync. If you are having synchronizing your contacts using mobile device with Outlook.com desktop application, you may refer to this forum or create new post on this issue:

I was successful with the Outlook Hotmail Connector BUT even when I am using New Mail while in my outlook.com account, it is sending e-mails from the original address Cox.net. The Con.net address is going to be shut down very soon, so perhaps it will resolve itself BUT I'd like to have e-mails that I send while I am in outlook.com to be sent from outlook.com.

Does your Microsoft ID end in @cox.net or does it end in a Microsoft domain (i.e., @live.com, @hotmail.com, or @outlook.com)?

Microsoft really wants us to be onboard to compete with google and apple. MS does a really crappy job of helping us help them meet their goal. MS does a very poor job of instructing us dummies on how to set up our MS accounts so that they sync seamlessly. I tried to set up an alias email address in outlook.com it didn't work right so I deleted the alias email address and now my email is locked out and I can't use it for a month. Right now it says Email Address Already In Use. That is so true. It's my email address.

MS has a great idea to sync phone, tab and computer but they need to be very clear on how to set it up. They need to communicate with us but they don't know how to communicate with customers. Try their chat help. Those guys will drive you crazy with the silly questions. They are nothing but robots. MS help yourself by getting live helplines until you at least get the masses that are trying to use your system up and going. If you don't you will frustrate your customers and fail.

I have found a fix for this. By using Gmail I can sync everything together and it will import all the info from Outlook. I can also keep my Yahoo email address, and this is the best platform I have found to be able to join multiple email addresses together, keep my calendar synced and access my calendar and email across both desktop and mobile devices.
