sync outlook.com & outlook desktop application

OK.. I have Windows 8 and Outlook 13 but I can not find a way to sync them. I also have the Outlook Connector installed, but it does not show up in my add-ins so I don't know how to set it up.

Lastly the first listed question asked about contacts AND calendars but I only see answer for e-mails and contacts.

I am now using Google Calendar Sync to Sync my Outlook calendar with Google and then I sync my Google Calendar with outlook.com. First this is an extra step, second, it only syncs one calendar and third I am trying to stop using Google and just use Outlook and Outlook.com and keep everything synced up. I may have to keep doing it that way because Google also syncs with my phone unless outlook.com and do that as well??? Thanks

Have you tried to use the Outlook Hotmail Connector?

To configure an outlook.com email account in Microsoft Outlook, you must first install the Outlook Hotmail Connector. Then, you must manually configure the Outlook Hotmail Connector to connect to an outlook.com email account.

Outlook.com will sync with Outlook 2013 with no problem, but those of us on earlier versions can download Microsoft Office Outlook Hotmail Connector at the link below and it will allow you to sync outlook.com with desktop outlook.  I just tried it and it works!!!

So users who dont have Outlook 2013 are stuck with the Hotmail connector?

The hotmail connector does not sync the default Outlook data store, it only downloads a local copy of the hotmail/Outlook.com contacts, mail, & calendar to be local edit & sync.

Will there ever be a update to hotmail connector to allow direct sync?

Using the hotmail connector as the default data store has too many other problems.

I have reviewed your issue about synchronising all the contacts from oultook desktop application to outlook.com.

Here are some steps on how you can sync all the contacts from your outlook desktop application to outlook.com. Please follow this steps:

1. Sign in to outlook.com
2. Go to your contacts then look for manage.
3. Look for import from file.It will open another window.
4. Choose Microsoft Outlook (using CSV)
5. Follow step 3 on the same window where you saw the option "choose microsoft outlook (using csv), then click import.

It will import all you contacts from outlook desktop application to your outlook.com account.
