sync outlook.com & outlook desktop application

i'm really loving outlook.com - jumped all in and moved everything over from gmail.

do you all have any plans to add some type of sync functionality between outlook.com and the outlook desktop application?  i manage my contacts through the outlook desktop application, and it's a bit of a pain to export contacts from outlook desktop application to a .csv, then import into outlook.com.  would sure be nice if there was a way to sync content to & from these two relatives, especially contacts & calendars.

    The question has NOT been answered.  I, like everyone else posting, cannot sync between my outlook.com account and my Outlook 2013 calendar.  I AM USING THE OUTLOOK.COM CALENDAR THAT WAS CREATED WHEN I ADDED THE OUTLOOK.COM ACCOUNT TO OUTLOOK 2013.  I can add events to the calendar in Outlook 2013 (the outlook.com active exchange calendar) and they will not appear in outlook.com.  I can add events to the outlook.com calendar and they will not appear in the Outlook 2013 calendar.

    Just check the forums; many, many people have reported this issue with Outlook 2013.

    Question is still open - the calendar seen in outlook.com is a different thing from that in Outlook 2013 - entries on either side do not replicate to the other.

    This is a pain: Normally I work with the desktop but I'd like to see and update my calendar using a mobile device. And I do not want to update two calendars in parallel.

    The question has been answered. 

    When you create an outlook.com account in Outlook 2013, a calendar will be added to Outlook 2013.  That's the calendar that syncs to outlook.com....so you copy the calendar entries from your old personal calendar to the newly created outlook.com calendar

    • all within the Outlook 2013 software.  Then when you make changes, add events, delete events, etc on the desktop computer, you'll do it to the newly created outlook.com calendar and not the old personal calendar (you don't use that one any more if you want things to sync) and there is no need "to update two calendars in parellel."

    I have the same question.  How can I snyc my 2010 desktop Outlook with Outlook.com?  When I use the link in the first response, it takes me to an error page and says the page no longer exists.  I realize this is an old post, so I am hoping someone can give me the current link.
