Google chat not working in Outlook.com

Hello!

In the messaging pane in Outlook.com, at the bottom it gave me option "Add people to chat with" and mentioned "Google contacts" below it. I clicked on it, and approved the permission Outlook.com required. It sent me an email that the connection was successful. However, I'm not seeing my Google contacts in Outlook.com, instead it's still giving me the same option "Add people to chat with" and "Google contacts" is still in the list. At the bottom of the pane, I see "Connected to" and there are icons for Windows Live Messenger and Facebook only, not Google.

When I goto people.live.com, at top-right of the screen It says "Connected to" and shows icon of Google also, along with Windows Live Messenger and Facebook. But still in the messaging pane, there is no Google icon.

When I click on the gear icon in People, I can see "Google" in the "Filter all contacts" list, but when I uncheck others and keep only Google checked, there are no contacts appearing.

When I click on my name at top-right in the menu bar, there is no option of Google chat in "Available on > ", only Facebook chat On/Off is visible.

I have tried using different web browsers, and also removed the Google connection from Outlook.com, revoking the access from Google, and reestablished everything from a scratch, the scenario is still the same.

Please solve my issue asap!

    It's a pleasure to assist you with your concern. For further isolation of this concern, please verify if the you were able to use the Web messaging option in People, SkyDrive and Calendar page.

     

    If not, kindly provide us the screenshot of the following pages (People, SkyDrive and Calendar) showing that web messaging in this services is not available via private message area. Please click on “You have a private reply to this message" link just above your post to view the message. Note that you need to be signed in to the Microsoft Community forum to view the link.

    Yes I'm able to chat using the web messenger in Outlook.com, People, Calendar, and SkyDrive. I've my facebook linked with my Microsoft account and am able to chat properly with those contacts.

    Hello!

    I just noticed one thing. Now when I open the messaging pane in SkyDrive page, at the bottom it's also showing connected to Skype, and I'm able to chat with my Skype contacts as well. This wasn't available to me till now (I've been waiting for it to roll out ever since Skype integration was announced). But unfortunately, Skype chat isn't available in Outlook.com, People, or Calendar.  Only in SkyDrive page. It's quite inconsistent. I thought the messaging pane module is same for all the pages, but apparently I was wrong.

    and set my Outlook.com language to English (UK). Now Skype works in Outlook.com, People, and SkyDrive.com, but not on Calendar page. From Calendar settings I tried changing Calendar language to English (UK), and also the Calendar Timezone (along with my Microsoft Account country and timezone), but still Skype chat won't work through Calendar page.

    We understand your concern about not being able to chat with Google contacts and we will assist you. Just to verify you are able to chat with the affected contacts in web messaging of Outlook.com but you are not able to see them in your contact list in People page?

    We would like to ask for a screenshot of Google contacts that you could chat with on Outlook.com and also with the Skype contacts that you could chat in SkyDrive page.

    Hello Kim_S.!

    No, I'm not able to chat with Google contacts at all. Neither at Outlook.com, People. Calendar, or SkyDrive. Nor any of my Google contacts are showing up in the People page.

    I mentioned about Skype's chat issue because Kristina S. asked me to report about web messaging in all the 4 pages. To resolve this particular inconsistency, I'll be starting another thread.

    My Google chat issue has been escalated to Support Specialists, and I'm waiting for a response from them.
