Google chat not working in Outlook.com

Hello!

In the messaging pane in Outlook.com, at the bottom it gave me option "Add people to chat with" and mentioned "Google contacts" below it. I clicked on it, and approved the permission Outlook.com required. It sent me an email that the connection was successful. However, I'm not seeing my Google contacts in Outlook.com, instead it's still giving me the same option "Add people to chat with" and "Google contacts" is still in the list. At the bottom of the pane, I see "Connected to" and there are icons for Windows Live Messenger and Facebook only, not Google.

When I goto people.live.com, at top-right of the screen It says "Connected to" and shows icon of Google also, along with Windows Live Messenger and Facebook. But still in the messaging pane, there is no Google icon.

When I click on the gear icon in People, I can see "Google" in the "Filter all contacts" list, but when I uncheck others and keep only Google checked, there are no contacts appearing.

When I click on my name at top-right in the menu bar, there is no option of Google chat in "Available on > ", only Facebook chat On/Off is visible.

I have tried using different web browsers, and also removed the Google connection from Outlook.com, revoking the access from Google, and reestablished everything from a scratch, the scenario is still the same.

Please solve my issue asap!

    I need to clarify: Perhaps I spoke too soon.

    I do not have the EXACT same issue as the original poster. My issue is that although i DO so the "Connected To Google" and I DO so the "Google Icon" a the bottom, none of my google contacts are visible to chat with.

    Similarly, my wife who uses google chat can SEE me listed as available in her contacts list, but when she sends me chat messages, they never arrive in my Outlook.com chat side bar.

    So, I do NOT want to hijack this thread with my issue, as it seems to be similar but not exactly the same.

    Sorry for the intrusion.

    Perhaps I should start another thread of my own to resolve my issue independently?

    Hi Jason,

    That would be great if you will create a new thread with regard to your issue so that moderators who will assist you will isolate the issue. You can also add the link of this thread so the support will just refer on this. Or much better if you create a new one and provide more details on it.

    Yes, Jessa_R is right. Though our issues are regarding connectivity with Google, the problem you are facing is different than mine.

    Hello!

    Is there any update from Support Specialists?

    I found another bug in the contact list, but I'm not creating a new thread for it at the moment, as it might create problem if two different teams are working on my contact list at the same time.

    The bug is, when our Skype and facebook both are linked to our Microsoft account, and if we've merged a contact's Skype details to her/his facebook details, then when we IM them on facebook using Outlook.com interface, it still displays their Skype username at the top, instead of facebook name.

    For example, suppose the person's name on facebook is "ABC XYZ" and his Skype username is "zzz", then if we IM them on facebook using Outlook.com (or People, Calendar, SkyDrive), it displays:

    zzz                              //Skype username

    Available, Facebook

    While if we separate their Skype details, then it displays properly:

    ABC XYZ

    Available, Facebook

    Please look into this issue as well. This isn't supposed to happen, specially when I didn't even got Skype for Outlook.com update yet :(
