Outlook.com App Frequently Prompts For Re-Login

First of all, I want to say that I was excited to see the new rebranding. I was so impressed that I switched my main email address to an Outlook.com addy.

That said, I'm having a glaring issue with the new Outlook.com Android app. I have push notifications enabled, and am frequently being told that my account requires re-login. I'm seeing this several times a day.

An added occasional issue occurs when I put in my address and password. I am told that I've attempted to login with an incorrect password too many times, and am prompted to do it again, this time with a required CAPTCHA field. It then accepts my login, where I am prompted to choose permissions, then it takes me to the app. Though it was happening every time at first, it's since started only happening about half the time. So I might have to chalk that up to fat-fingering my password out of frustration.

I've never had this problem with the stock email app. But I would rather use the Outlook.com app and take advantage of its extra features.

2014, and wer'e still getting the same old MS shafting. Microsoft claim that two step verification makes our accounts more secure, Obviously. it feels our accounts are more secure by releasing our personal details into the public domain, and making it available for all and sundry.

WE DONT NEED TWO STEP VERIFICATION.

OUR ACCOUNTS ARE AS SAFE AS THEY HAVE BEEN IN THE LAST 16 YEARS.

WE DONT WANT PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD KNOWING OUR PHONE NUMBERS, IF WE DID WE WOULD SUPPLY THEM WITHOUT BEING PRESSURISED TO DO SO BY MICROSOFT.

Many thanks MICROSOFT for making our accounts a f****** chore to use.

When Google adopts this practice, I'll drop their services like a ton of s***, too.

I'm sorry, but do you people know what 'helpful' means? 11 people said a post stating, basically, "Me, too" was helpful. The point of a reply is supposed to be a solution, not commiseration. There is a Me Too button you can click.

I start reading the replies thinking they will solve the problem, but just find a very long "Me, too", and waste my time. And there are dozens of them. Sheesh.

I am also having the same problem and from the reply above it sounds like microsoft wants the users to fix the problem! Isn't that Microsofts job?

I deleted the app.

I have also recently begun experiencing this problem. It seems to have started for me in the past couple of weeks. I tried deleting and re-adding my account, clearing app cache, clearing data, etc.

Every time I re-add my account, it works fine for a while. But eventually, it tells me I need to re-enter my password (of course, there's no way to do that without deleting and re-adding the account, which is also extremely stupid, but beside the point.)

To better assist you, please clarify the following:
1. What is the make and model of your phone?
2. Is your two-step verification enabled? If yes, please use the app passwords to access your account on your device. However, if it does not work for you, you can turn off the two-step verification.
Please refer to this linkfor more information about App passwords and Two-step verification. You can also try to uninstall and reinstall the application.
