Hi,

I need to remove contacts of gmail from outlook.com people. I have posted this problem in this thread

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/mail-people/i-need-remove-google-contacts-urgent/1a49dda4-ae2a-474a-b15c-17ba84ab0364?page=4

and I was asked by Forum moderators Alden D. and John Paul M. to create a new thread so that a moderator can properly address to me. Now I am waiting for a moderator to address to me.

The problem I am facing is I am unable to remove gmail contacts from outlook.com account. Many people seems to have the same problem

Br,

Mikko

This is about Outlook.com not other apps or accounts. Currently there is no way to remove already synced 3rd party accounts. It looks like somebody simply don't want us to remove any synced contacts. It's all about that privacy crap and who will snag from whom our contact list. Earlier it was possible to sync all your contacts between all accounts without problems (Google, Facebook, Yahoo, LinkedIn etc), but then Facebook got in power and they cut the cord. Now Microsoft in fear to loose all already synced contacts, they just block any options for us to control our own contact list.

How is it by Microsoft Privacy Terms and Policies? Everything what is synced to their servers - does it belong to you or them?

The only solution to this marasm I see is to completely delete Microsoft account and create a new one and restrict any kind of contact/account sync.

I just got off chat/remote with a level 2 on this issue. He said I'll need up to 48 hrs to see if it's fixed (removing Google and Facebook contact folders from outlook.com)

I'll let you know when they call back in three days to check with me.

Here is what we did for  Google:

    1. go to myaccount.google.com
    2. Sign-in Security - select  'Connected apps & sites/manage apps
    3. find Microsoft accounts and remove

Here is what we did for Facebook:

    1. upper right hand top page pulldown (down chevron)
    2. select Apps
    3. find Microsoft and delete

Sure hope it works - I've spent waaaay tooooo many hrs on this, as it appears others have as well.

I will advise when I get my answer. Microsoft tech took log files and screen shots to sent to Outlook engineer.

Another update from Microsoft today. Technician confirmed this is a known issue that is being worked on by Outlook engineers. The technician said he will notify me when the update is available that addresses this issue. Unable to advose of a time frame, but said he will keep me posted.
