Hi,

I need to remove contacts of gmail from outlook.com people. I have posted this problem in this thread

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/mail-people/i-need-remove-google-contacts-urgent/1a49dda4-ae2a-474a-b15c-17ba84ab0364?page=4

and I was asked by Forum moderators Alden D. and John Paul M. to create a new thread so that a moderator can properly address to me. Now I am waiting for a moderator to address to me.

The problem I am facing is I am unable to remove gmail contacts from outlook.com account. Many people seems to have the same problem

Br,

Mikko

    Hi,

To address your issue, we suggest you to clear cache, cookies, and browsing history on your browser. After doing so, try opening your account again and check if issue still persisted.

We'll be looking forward for your update.

    Regards.

I had Microsoft on the phone for 3.5 hours.  They remoted in to my computer and were unable to remove the Google contacts.  There is an issue with that feature, it's annoying, and nobody knows how to fix it.  After 5 pages of people with the same problem and the only thing that can be suggested is to clear cache and cookies?  That was suggested in the first page and obviously doesn't have anything to do with the issue.  That's a great idea...to fix a browser issue.  This is a server or back end issue and nobody cares about it or has any idea on how to fix it.  The official removal process doesn't work in many cases and those cases are posting here.  Quit with the "clear your cache and cookies and update us."  It's well beyond that.

This is not just for Google. I have the same problem with LinkedIn as well.  Need to have this fixed.

For anyone having issues with Google contacts within the Outlook phone app, I recently figured out what I had to do even though it was somewhat tedious...

When I first downloaded the Outlook app for work, my Google account associated with my phone somehow was granted permission to access contacts and Google threw all of my contacts into my Outlook contacts page (which was very annoying). I deleted cache, data, uninstalled, and re-installed my Outlook app as well as turned off sync for both Google and Outlook. I ended up having to completely remove my Google account from my phone which was annoying because I have Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, etc. all configured and set up on it. However, after removing and re-adding my Google account and then re-installing Outlook, everything is good. When I went into my Contacts tab within Outlook, it asked if my phone can access it or whatever and I said no. All is good. All of my Google information just needed a little while to re-sync with all of the apps...
