Cannot sync birthdays from people to calendar... Help!!

I have manually added birthdays to certain people in my Microsoft account ('@outlook.com')...

these birthdays are supposed to automatically sync to my Calendar once added to a contact...

t's been 48 hrs and the birthdays are not updating to the calendar...

I have also tried to delete the birthday calendar and add it back...

I have tried to re-edit the relevant contact to see if it will update to calendar, but that also doesn't work...

I have Nokia Windows Phone 8 and I am using the Microsoft account with the phone...

The contacts are syncing fine with the phone, but the birthday calendar can't update until this problem is resolved...

I desperately want to get all my contacts, birthdays, calendar entries synced

I have also tried to add a birthday in calendar for a contact name I already have in people this then  creates a duplicate contact I then go to manage, clean up contacts this is then fine until about 24 hours later you then have duplicate birthdays

Please help!!!

Before we ask for your email address, please tell us the things you've done so far in your attempt to fix this on your own.

I was discovering that birthdays of well maintained contacts are missing in birthday calendar and wondering about that - for weeks. Manual refresh in birthday calendar settings doesn't help.

Thanks to lamé's investigation the issue should be clearly reproducible. Meanwhile, in the German forums it's confirmed that not only linked contacts (Skype, Facebook) but also pure standalone Outlook contacts are affected and not properly synced.

    Thanks.

We haven't heard form the escalations team though.

The more info they have about this, the faster they can isolate the issue.

For this week, here are my contacts whose birthdays are missing in birthday calendar. If I'd rely on Outlook.com, I'd miss birthdays of these friends:

    Hi m@rk,

Thank you for getting back to us.

After reviewing the details that you have previously posted, we recommend that you try the following steps which will help us speed up the process of our investigation:

    1. Go to your People page and unlink your connected services. This will remove the contacts from any connected services that was associated to your People page.
    2. Then go to your calendar and delete your birthday calendar.
    3. Go to your People page again and make sure that you entered the correct birthdays of your Outlook.com contacts.
    4. Then re-create your birthday calendar.
    5. Refresh your newly created birthday calendar and check if you will be able to see the birthdays of your Outlook.com contacts on the newly created birthday calendar.
    6. Re-connect your contacts from your connected services on the People page.
    7. Refresh your newly created birthday calendar again and check if you will be able to see their birthdays on the newly created birthday calendar.

Please let us know the results after you've done the steps above so we can continue investigating this issue.

    Kind regards.

    Hi Rumah_D,

    thank you for your reply.

If your suggestions are meant as premise for further escalation of this issue, I'd give attention to it. But I'd have to schedule appropriate time for it, since I assume these steps just would result in having to ...

    • re-connect the (replaced) birthdays calendar in Outlook clients (in my case on three PC) and on Windows Phone
    • re-link Outlook.com contacts with Skype, Facebook, Twitter etc. in Outlook.com
    • as well as on Windows Phone, which doesn't take the links from Outlook.com properly

... afterwards - correct me if I'm wrong?

I'm just wondering about the effort denotative suggestions, since we have a relative clear issue here, known since weeks and supposedly escalated to a Product Specialist/ escalation team.

    May I quote myself:

Thanks to lamé's investigation the issue should be clearly reproducible. Meanwhile, in the German forums it's confirmed that not only linked contacts (Skype, Facebook) but also pure standalone Outlook contacts are affected and not properly synced.

    Thanks.
